Weak signal for AP's

JasonCunningham

Had a recent power outtage and the AP's give a very weak mbps. I cannot stream or use the wifi for the phones in the house. My AT&T service is pushing 990 mbps so that's not the issue. I updated my switch to .13 reset the AP's and switch multiple times and still nothing. Very frustrating. I had issues back in 2020 and was sent another switch box and have been good until now.

I got it to work using the C type to USB cable. My computer refused to open the ip scanner install or run. Kept getting an error. But I'm up and running again. Thank you for your patience.

Hi @JasonCunningham

Thanks for your reply,

Based on the information you have shared it seems that you are trying to login in access points CLI.

Please find the IP address of the switch and gain access switch CLI to perform commands.

Please follow the below guide to find the IP address of the switch.

1. I will leave you a guide how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-find-my-Ruckus-Device...

2-Once we identified the IP address of the switch proceed to access remote to the device 'command Line'

How to remotely access to 'ICX 7150-12P' or 'access points' "Network devices"

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-remotely-access-to-IC...

If you can access to the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router>

3-Here is a quick guide to understand how to fix the 'routing code issue' but basically you need only need to run the following commands once you are on the command line 'CLI'

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

copy flash flash secondary

boot system flash secondary yes

example:

ICX7150-24P Router>enable (hit enter to accept the command)
ICX7150-24P Router#copy flash flash secondary (hit enter to accept the command and wait: until the flash finished )
ICX7150-24P Router#boot system flash secondary yes ( hit enter to accept the command  : the switch will reboot )

Or WEB access option

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-Fix-Routing-code-issu...

4-If the access via IP address is not possible here is a guide how to access to the Switch via console (cable access between your PC to the ICX 7150-C12P) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard or Console cable Rj45 to USB.

How to console in the ICX-7150-C12P

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-console-in-the-ICX-71...

Once you are log in the ICX-7150-C12P please follow up the same steps that are on point '3'

My computer will not let me install the IP scanner. I'm using the IP address on unleashed app. I do not know what the switch IP address is. it shows it's correct and not a AP. This whole thing is annoying and frustrating!

Hi @JasonCunningham

To check the IP address we don't need to install the Advanced IP scanner instead we can use the portable option ( install.exe that install the app in your computer).

Vsquez_Fer_3-1666283876789.png

3 ) Once is installed (open the app) and then click the Start bottom to star running the scanner

Vsquez_Fer_4-1666283876790.png

4 ) Ruckus devices are going to be detected as Ruckus Wireless / Ruckus Switch / Ruckus Router / unleashed as the shown example:Vsquez_Fer_5-1666283876791.png

Video link as reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zxgUn_Tm08

5 ) Since we already know the IP for the Ruckus switch (192.168.0.23) , I can access to the switch via Web/ssh/telnet

Webb access example :

SSH example:

Telnet example :

Note: If the IP address of switch does not appear on the  IP Scanner please reboot the local Router ( ISP device

Another solution is to log in in your local Router and check the 'device list'
