Ruckus R320 AP flashing Pwr and CTL light

Ashu1701

I've got a setup of 1 switch and 3APs, one AP for each floor. I recently got to know about the third AP and realized that this AP never worked(becuase in Unleash app I always saw only 2 APs).

I tried to do some basic troubleshooting to get the third AP work( reset of AP, Switch power cycle, change of port for the faulty AP in switch) but nothing seem to work.

On AP that's not working I am noticing that only Power and CTL Leds are flashing. Power led glows every one second and CTL every half second.

Please let me know how I can get the third AP to function.

Hi @Ashu1701

Greetings of the day,

Based on your description, since the PWR and CTL was blinking slowly, it looks like it was having trouble connecting to the Master AP.

Please try performing factory reset on the access points that is not working to see if the lights changes.

NOTE: While performing factory please try to disconnect the other access points which is working fine from the ICX-7150 switch. For example, if you have 2 access points you should disconnect the one which is working fine from the switch and leave the one in which we are going to perform the factory reset. Once the process is done please connect the other access points back.

Thanks Jayavidhya.

In order to troubleshoot the issue I had to remove the faulty AP from the ceiling mount and performed factory reset followed by firmware update locally and it all worked fine but then it stops working as soon as I put it back to the ceiling mount.

My suspicion is either the ethernet cable is faulty or too long.

After all the factory reset and firmware update the latest LED status after putting it back on ceiling mount is CTL solid green and PWR blinking green.

Hi @Ashu1701

Please check whether the cable from the Router ( Local ) ISP  to the Switch is plugged in properly in any of the 12 ports available, as shown in  following example:
