APs shutting off and not coming back online

Johnnyy5ive
New Contributor

Hi, last week I was having an issue where my APs turn them self off (no lights on any of them). I rebooted the router and went into unleash, updated the firmware to the latest version per instruction on  this forum but the problem still persist. After router reboot, the APs come online for about an hour then go offline. I have two r510 and they both go off at the same time. I have double checked each of them and they currently have the 200.15.6.12.304 firmware. Please help.

Hi @Johnnyy5ive

Based on the information, you have shared it seems like the code 08095 has UFI code which has both the boot monitor and the SW code. So please try to upgrade the switch, from the code you are to 08095m and then the recommended code 08095g UFI.

So please enter the below commands to complete the upgrade process.

copy tftp flash 192.168.1.3 SPR08095gufi.bin primary

copy tftp flash 192.168.1.3 SPR08095gufi.bin secondary

Show flash  (ensure that you have the new flash code)

Write memory

Reload

Once you are done with the above commands please try to reboot your router. After the update the switch will take a while to start up so wait for few minutes as you switch got upgraded.

Best regards,

Jayavidhya

Also please try using the putty software to perform the upgrade process.

Hi @Johnnyy5ive

To solve this issue please try to update the switch to the latest version 08095d using the below guides.

Also here are three options to perform the upgrade to the recommended code 08095. Once you are done with the upgrade process please let us know whether the issue got resolved or not.

1.Upgrade a Switch ICX-7150-C12P using a USB flash drive

I followed the instruction for ftp and telenet but I am stuck as the first command in the instruction is not working.

1000009012.jpg

Now, of cause I replaced the ip address with mine and changed the file name to mnz... but it keep telling me "invalid input -> bootrom".

I even tried changing it to boot but get the same error msg.

Please help.

Hi @Johnnyy5ive

Thanks for your response,

Please upgrade the switch by using the following commands. Also you can find the mnz10114.bin in the Boot directory in the 08080f.zip

copy tftp flash 192.168.1.3 SPR08095gufi.bin primary

copy tftp flash 192.168.1.3 SPR08095gufi.bin secondary

Show flash  (ensure that you have the new flash code)

Write memory

Reload

Once you are done with the above commands please try to reboot your router. After the update the switch will take a while to start up so wait for few minutes as you switch got upgraded.

Please let us know whether your problem got fixed or not.

Hi, to clarify, the instructions for the link you provided yesterday list the sequence of commands as follows:

1000009027.jpg

Are you now saying I should ignore steps 1 through 5 and just do steps 6 to 10?

What I reported yesterday was that I couldn't get past step 1 because it gives me the error below when I enter step 1 command:

"invalid input -> bootrom"

Also, for the 08095, current version is 08095m. Can I use the current version or are you saying I should be using the 2021 version of 08095g?

As you can see below, have downloaded and unzipped the files I need, I just need the correct commands sequence to do the upgrade.
