Turn on ICX 7150 Radio via Web Interface

bwiscott44

My wife accidentally turned off the radio for the sole wlan that was setup by hitting the power button in the Unleashed Mobile App (Like they said not to do here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_oAReVK1qo).

I can only access the Web Interface when connected to my Spectrum WiFi currently. The Web Interface does not appear to have any of the Wlan settings on it, unless I am just unaware of the correct terminology. I have tried connecting directly to the ruckus box with a cable and am unable to connect. When I ping the Ip on WiFi I can get a response, but when I am connected with all wireless shut off I get request timeouts only. Any help is appreciated. I am sure others are running into this as well so there must be a solution.

Thank you in advance

Hi @bwiscott44

Seems to be that the cables are not hooked up correctly since the gateway is connected on 1/2/2 port

Make sure that the spectrum router cable goes into one of the 12 ports available in the ICX-7150-C12P

Hi Fernando,

Unfortunately when I plug it into one of the 12 ports on the ICX I can no longer connect to the ip at all and the rest of my lan connections stop working.

I did notice on your other link the distinction between the unleashed login and the switch. Since i only have 2 ip addresses that allow me to connect to, It is one of two things

1. The ip is the same for both the switch/WirelessAP and the login dictates whether it connects to unleashed vs. the switch.

2. It is the other ip which redirects me to the ISP (Spectrum) page and tells me to download their app to manage my network

I tried all login credential on your link below with no luck https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/Admin-usernames-and-password...

Is my only option at this point to reset everything and start from scratch?

Hi Fernando,

Thank you for your help. The reset process worked and I have the WiFi back up. Now it is just back to my original problem of it continuing to drop. Based on others conversations in the forum regarding this the switch is in router mode. Is the only way to resolve this permanently to connect directly to the switch and adjust the boot process? As described in this link.

Hi @bwiscott44

Great  to hear that !!!! Feel free to mark as solution the post that help you on this.

There are 2 ways via console cable or IP address I will leave both guides.

An identifier of this problem is that it comes out as Switch-Router in the unleashed dashboard.

There we are going to see 2 important things the

MAC address: Physical address of the device this never changes

The IP address is a logical address assigned by your local router (ISP) to the device (this can change and may not be the same as the one shown on the dashboard)

1- To fix this issue, we must identify the IP address of the switch 'currently'

-We can try the IP address that shows in the dashboard copy and paste it in the URL if that redirects you to the login page for the ICX-7150-C12P that is the correct one if not.

I will leave you a guide how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-find-my-Ruckus-Device...

2-Once we identified the IP address of the switch proceed to access remote to the device 'command Line'

How to remotely access to 'ICX 7150-12P' or 'access points' "Network devices"

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-remotely-access-to-IC...

If you can access to the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router>

3-Here is a quick guide to understand how to fix the 'routing code issue' but basically you need only need to run the following commands once you are on the command line 'CLI'

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

copy flash flash secondary

boot system flash secondary yes

example:

ICX7150-24P Router>enable (hit enter to accept the command)
ICX7150-24P Router#copy flash flash secondary (hit enter to accept the command and wait: until the flash finished )
ICX7150-24P Router#boot system flash secondary yes ( hit enter to accept the command  : the switch will reboot )

4-If the access via IP address is not possible here is a guide how to access to the Switch via console (cable access between your PC to the ICX 7150-C12P) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard or Console cable Rj45 to USB.

Once you are log in the ICX-7150-C12P please follow up the same steps that are on point '3'
