Ruckus R510 AP not broadcasting wifi after hard reset

MandyS

I have a Ruckus switch with one R510 AP.  We had some storms a couple nights ago and the internet was not working consistently. I also have lost the password to the Unleashed app, so I wanted to do a hard reset to be able to reset the password and hopefully fix the internet issues. I pressed the factory reset button for 15 seconds and released.  Now the AP is not working.  The PWR and CTL lights are on and steady, but the 5G and 2.4G lights are not on.  I cannot connect to any internet at this time.

When I click on  https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com/  it says 'this website can't be reached' (I will attach a screenshot). If I try to find the IP address for the AP on LanScan, I only get one thing that says Ruckus, which is apparently the switch, not the AP. If I try to type in the IP address that is printed on the back of the actual AP, the webpage does nothing.  It just "thinks" until it says the site can't be reached.  I'm pretty sure that this thing is dead, although the power light is still on. Screenshot 2025-05-23 at 4.40.38 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-05-23 at 4.47.54 PM.png

Hello @MandyS ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you are unable to connect through the Access points.

Before we can help, we need to check few configurations on the Switch and which version the  Switch is  currently running.

Please follow the below steps and help us with the queries,

1. To check this, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local router to the switch ICX-7150-C12P

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find the IP Address of the RUCKUS Devices (Switch and APs) using IP Scanner free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-find-the-IP-Address-o...

2. Once we identify the IP address of the switch proceed to access remotely to the device “Command Line”

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-access-the-Command-Li...

If you can access the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router> OR

ICX7150-C12 Switch>

Please enter the below commands once you log in to CLI and share the output.

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

show version

show flash

Please share the output of the above commands or share the screenshots if stuck at any step or error (if any) and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Assuming that the one item in my LanScan that says Ruckus is the actual switch, I followed the directions in the Terminal application. I get "connection refused" (I'll post a screenshot).  I don't even know what that is supposed to mean. My switch is obviously working since our devices that are plugged into it are still able to get online.

Hello @MandyS ,

Thank you for the response.

Could you please use the IP address of the Switch to login to the web browser and confirm if you are able to access the Switch dashboard?

You should observe the Switch Dashboard, which should be visible upon accessing the appropriate IP address, as illustrated in the screenshot below.

Please let us know if you are able to access the dashboard with the obtained IP address.

Please login to the Switch dashboard using the default credentials.

These usernames and passwords are key sensitive, please use capital letters where necessary.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
