Can connect new device

ECI

Greetings.

i have brought home a new work laptop as I have through out the years and will get very low connectivity. When I reached out to spectrum they always have “reset” modem and router and it has worked for the Ruckus system to then recognize it to the nearest access point. This computer for some reason no matter what I do will not connect to the ruckus. I have all other 19 devices and other dells that are all registering as a client. I did notice my other dell comes up as a client but not to a specific access point. I have reset the modem router and all access points. I don’t know what else to do. I’m up to date with all software on ruckus as well. If there is something I can change as a setting on this dell to allow it to be recognized that would be ideal. It’s not the system as it connects but needs an access point to have a strong enough signal to not have to be on the exact same door as the router. The whole point of these access points! Again. All other new and old devices are connected and recognized so I would love to know a work around or a known issue with newest dell precisions that would not be able to be recognized on an access point. Thank you.

Hi @ECI

Greetings!!!

Thank you for reaching out to the RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your RUCKUS setup.

Based on the information provided, it appears that your Laptop is not getting listed in the RUCKUS Access Points client list.

Could you please let me know if you can connect to the RUCKUS Access Point’s Wi-Fi network on this laptop?

If yes, you can check the laptop's MAC address in the Access Points Unleashed client list.

Please help me with the above queries.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
Imran Sanadi

Yes. I have tried to connect and it will not to any access point in the house. What is odd is I have 11 clients and only 9 appear now on each access point and I wonder if it would be my extender that I had to purchase that would be hidden?

Hi @ECI

Thank you for the response and the information.

Based on the picture you shared, it appears that one of the Device’s Ethernet cables is connected to the incorrect port on the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch. The cable should be connected to one of the 1-12 ports on the switch (please refer to the screenshots below). Kindly unplug the cable and reconnect it to the appropriate port. Once done, check your internet connection after some time.

Please let me know about the outcome.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hi @ECI

Thank you for the response.

As mentioned in one of my previous pages, the “connection not secure” dialogue is normal behavior.

You could just click on Proceed, as highlighted in the screenshot below.

It appears that you previously attempted to create a new Wi-Fi network, which does not constitute a full factory reset.

For a complete reset, please refer to my previous post and follow the full factory reset procedure. This process will include setting up a new Wi-Fi network as part of the reconfiguration.

Kindly let me know how it goes.

Thank you once again for your patience and understanding.

I can’t if I can’t get connected to the ruckuswireless that was the whole issue to begin with. The configure me WiFi is now gone so please send instructions to do a factory reset if I cannot connect to the ruckuswireless network. You didn’t resolve how to successfully connect to this WiFi which I need to do in order to even start the factory reset as connecting to the home WiFi is not an option. Send instructions or resolve first of how to connect to ruckuswireless so that I can perform the factory reset.

I need to know how to connect to the RUCKUSWIRELES-1 network that appeared after I configured the system and created it- It does not allow me to PUT IN THE new password that it had me create which I showed you in a post prior to you asking me to reach out to my ISP to see if there are issues. There are none. So please tell me how to enter the PASSWORD to this network- It will not allow me to enter a PASSOWRD only to disconnect. If I can get connected with the password It made me create when I created I would be able to do the factory reset.

Hi @ECI

Thank you for your response and the update.

If the Configure.me-xxxxxx network prompts for a password, please try using the serial number printed on the bottom of the Access Point you are attempting to reset.

If that does not work, kindly disconnect the current AP from the switch port, connect a different AP, and perform a factory reset on this AP.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Thank you again for your continued patience.

Hi- I'm not sure you are understanding my concern or question? I DO NOT have the option any longer to connect to the configure me WIFI- This is not an option in the network listing- The only option is the ruckwireless1 that somehow was created and I CANNOT connect to as it does not connect to any WIFI- Please see the picture I sent you that my computer states once I try to connect to ruckuswireless-1 - The error message is that I can JOIN ruckuswireless, but there is NO INTERNET connection. So I do not understand why are asking me to connect to the "configure me" network when I told you I do not have that as an option in the last 3 messages? I need to know what network to connect to in order to reset the access point. Until I receive these directions with the only network I have available I cannot proceed. Can you please tell me HOW to connect to the ruckuswireless network if It cant reach the internet? Again, My options in the networks offered DO NOT include the configure me option.
