Upgrade Firmware

dtsteinb

I want to upgrade the firmware but I was doing it via SSH via putty.  I have nothing but issues doing it this way.  I know there is a program now that can do it.  I have lta-windows-386-0.0.45 but when I enter the IP/username/password it looks like it is trying to connect.  After it gets to 5% it just closes.  Is there a newer program or am I doing something wrong?

Hello @dtsteinb ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you are logging in to the CLI of the Switch using Telnet option and it doesn't require login credentials.

As you know the IP address of the Switch, I would request you to proceed to access the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch using a Web Browser.

Switch default credentials will be as mentioned below.

Username: super

Password: sp-admin

If the above credentials don’t work, you can try the default credential combinations below as well.

These usernames and passwords are key sensitive, please use capital letters where necessary.

Please click on Login option and try to access the Switch GUI using the login credentials.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

None of those combinations worked.  I can go to 10.0.0.98 (see attachment in previous messsage) and login but those credentials dont works for this web page either.

Hello @dtsteinb ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you tried to access the Switch through GUI, and you are unable to login with the login credentials.

As you are aware of the Switch IP address, I would request you to please access the CLI of the Switch using the Telnet option.

We do not need any login credentials to access CLI using the Telnet option. If Telnet is enabled on the Switch it can be accessed directly using an IP Address of the Switch.

FIGURE 3 Accessing CLI using the Telnet option

If you can access the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router> OR

ICX7150-C12 Switch>

Once you are able to access the CLI, I would request you to please execute the following commands to reset the Switch login credentials.

ICX7150-12P Switch>enable

ICX7150-12P Switch#configure terminal

ICX7150-12P Switch# username super password pass

Where the username is ’super’ and password ‘pass’ (You could choose any of your choices)

To allow the correct authentication please run the following commands:

ICX7150-12P Switch (config)#crypto key generate rsa

ICX7150-12P Switch (config)# aaa authentication login default local
ICX7150-12P Switch (config)# aaa authentication web-server default local

Please share the screenshots if stuck at any step or error (if any) and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

I can login http://10.0.0.246/ now so I do not understand why the software is not working.

Hello @dtsteinb ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you have performed a reset on the login credentials,

May I please know if you have tried using the software upgrade tool with the new credentials?

Please share a screenshot of the error if you are getting stuck at any point.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
