Upgrade Firmware

dtsteinb
New Contributor

I want to upgrade the firmware but I was doing it via SSH via putty.  I have nothing but issues doing it this way.  I know there is a program now that can do it.  I have lta-windows-386-0.0.45 but when I enter the IP/username/password it looks like it is trying to connect.  After it gets to 5% it just closes.  Is there a newer program or am I doing something wrong?

Hello @dtsteinb ,

Greetings!!!

Thank you for contacting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

I hope you are doing well!!!

Thank you for the information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that you are looking to Upgrade the Switch using the upgrade tool.

To proceed further, we would need to check few configurations of the switch.

To check this, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local router to the switch ICX-7150-C12P

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find the IP Address of the RUCKUS Devices (Switch and APs) using IP Scanner free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-find-the-IP-Address-o...

Once we identify the IP address of the switch proceed to access remotely to the device “Command Line”

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-access-the-Command-Li...

If you can access the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router> OR

ICX7150-C12 Switch>

Once you login to CLI, please enter the below commands and share the output.

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

show version

show flash

Please share the output of the above commands or share the screenshots if stuck at any step or error (if any) and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hello @dtsteinb ,

Thank you for the response.

From the response you shared, I understand that the Switch is on the version 08.0.80f.

As the Switch is on the version 08.0.80f, you can use the upgrade tool to upgrade the Switch to the recommended version 08.0.95g.

Utilizing this tool is straightforward: users simply need to input the IP Address, Username, and password associated with the Switch into the software interface.

For your convenience, please find the necessary resources below:

1.  Download the Upgrade software for Mac: https://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/3836-lennar-upgrade-tool-mvp-mac

2.  Download the Upgrade software for Windows: Link: Upgrade Software for Windows

Access the Upgrade Software User Manual: Link: Upgrade Tool User Guide for Lennar SmartHome users

Please confirm if you were using the same link to use the upgrade tool.

Also, please share any screenshots if you are getting stuck at any point.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

This is the same software version I have now.  When I putty in I see

telnet@ICX7150-C12-Switch>enable
No password has been assigned yet...
telnet@ICX7150-C12-Switch#

When I enter that IP via web browser it asks for username/password.  How do I set that up?

I have 3 IP's for Ruckus

I am assuming I need to do this via the 10.0.0.246 IP.
