Failed to auto recognize ICX IP address

I live in a Lennar home that was built in Dec 2020 that came with a ICX-7150-C12 switch & 2 R510 WAPs.  Within the last 10 days I have noticed the network dropping off intermittently to the point that my devices will say that the network is unstable or not even be connected anymore.  This has happened with my LG smart TV, Alexa devices, iPhones & some of my smart plugs. 

When logged into my Unleashed dashboard through admin, I see that there is no IP for the Switch.  It shows that the name of the switch is "ICX7150-C12 Router" and states "Failed to auto recognize ICX IP address, please provide IP address to continue".

My assumption is that it booted up incorrectly as a router and needs to be changed to a switch.  However, I have read many of the other posts about similar issues and still have had no luck in resolving the issue.  I have downloaded the IP scanner and do not see the IP address for my switch, but do see IP addresses for my to WAPs.  Through my modem/router it shows me an IP address for the switch (192.168.0.12), but I am not able to access it by any means.  I have tried through the web by just typing in the IP address in the address bar and it says the connection took too long.  I have tried by using MobaXterm as well and get similar messages about not being able to connect.

Based on the information you shared, it seems like you are presetting the routing code issue.

CLI output:

ICX7150-C12 Router>

Symptoms

 

-Websites not loading 
-Devices getting disconnected or having problems working as intended. 
-Network dropping at random points in time. 
-Smart devices not being able to connect to the internet. 

-Unleashed dashboard sometimes not showing as "Connected" on the Internet tab.

-Slow connectivity

We have 2 ways to access to the Switch 1- In a logical way via Ip address (Ip address are logical addresses given by the local router) so we would have to track which IP is that of the Switch (that is using).

In simple words write the following commands and hit enter to accept each command:

ICX7150-C12 Router#enable 
ICX7150-C12 Router#copy flash flash secondary
ICX7150-C12 Router#boot system secondary yes

The other method to access to the switch is via console (cable access) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard or Console cable Rj45 to USB.

Please follow the below steps to get Switch in sync with Unleashed. We will delete the Switch from Unleased and Add it back.

Steps to synchronize the Switch (ICX-7150-C12P) to the unleashed Access Points:

 

Switch side:

Confirm that the switch is running FastIron firmware version 08.0.90 or later using the following command:
ICX7150-C12-Switch#show version

Make sure that the SSH server is enabled: 
1. device>enable
  device# configure terminal
  device# show ip ssh config
 



If it is disabled, please run the following command:

device(config)# crypto key generate
device(config)# write memory

Check again with the command " show ip ssh config"  to confirm that the SSH server was enabled correctly.

On the Unleashed dashboard:

1. Make sure the management approval is enabled.

2. Hit Add on that dashboard

3-Put the IP address of the ICX switch (ICX-7150-C12P) and Password

In your case, will be the one showing up on the Switch tap:



(you can also confirm the IP address from the switch's CLI with the following command:

Device>enable
Device#show ip address

4-Username and password for Switch authentication are the same as what you use to log in for Switch on Web or CLI (Putty).

To sync the data, it will take us a while, so after a couple of minutes, it should say connected.

Once the Switch gets synchronized, please check the dashboard again.

Thanks for your response.  It was helpful and I was able to resolve my issue.  Please note that your instructions did not say anything about having to 'remove' the switch that was showing in the Unleashed Dashboard before being able to 'add' one with the same IP address.  Because the switch was showing the the Unleashed Dashboard I had to remove it to be able follow your instructions.

Thanks for your response.

I was able to follow your directions and get the ICX-7150-12c back to switch mode.  However, when I login to the Unleashed Dashboard it still shows the switch as 'Disconnected' even though it does have an !P address showing now.  What must I do now so that it shows that it is connected?Screenshot 2023-11-10 092219.jpg
