Entire Ruckus System Stopped Working After Power Outage

nlai
New Contributor

My whole Ruckus system has not been working for the past few months. I finally got around to trying to fix it and did a reset of the system, but I'm not getting any better results. According to the online Unleashed system, the switch is disconnected. I have the switch's IP address after following one of the forum posts. When I try to remove and add the switch back, it says that it fails, "Failed to ping ICX (IP Address). Suggest checking the network."

Hello @nlai ,

Thank you for the response.

From the previous post, I understand that you were able to login to the GUI of the Switch through web browser using the Switch IP address.

As you are able to access GUI of the Switch, I would request you to please enable Telnet through the browser by following the below screenshots:

Once you have enabled Telnet through the web browser, I request you to please login to the CLI of the Switch using the Telnet option.

Once you are able to login to CLI, please follow the below RUCKUS Lennar Knowledge base self-help article which will help you to fix the issue when the Switch is running in the Routing code for future reference.

Please follow the process as explained in the article and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hi @nlai ,

Thank you for the response.

Before we can proceed further, we need to check few configurations on the Switch.

Please follow the below steps and help us with the queries,

To check this, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local router to the switch ICX-7150-C12P

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find the IP Address of the RUCKUS Devices (Switch and APs) using IP Scanner free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-find-the-IP-Address-o...

2. Once we identify the IP address of the switch proceed to access remotely to the device “Command Line”

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-access-the-Command-Li...

If you can access the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router> OR

ICX7150-C12 Switch>

Please enter the below commands once you log in to CLI and share the output.

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

show version

show flash

Please share the output of the above commands or share the screenshots if stuck at any step or error (if any) and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for the instructions. I've tried to access the CLI with both the SSH and Telnet options, but I do not get the "ICX7150-C12 ___" command line (see images below). I cannot type anything in that blank putty screen either, and it just times out. Part of the issue with my inputs is that I do not see a location to put my login credentials.

I followed the instructions of the first link to get the correct IP address for the switch (see screenshot below)

Please let me know what I can do input my login credentials so that I can access the switch's CLI.

FYI, this is the error message I get for my switch:

Hello @nlai ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you are unable to login to the Switch using CLI

We would need to find the IP address of the switch and then use the IP address to login to GUI of the switch using the web browser.

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-find-the-IP-Address-o...

Once we identify the IP address of the Switch proceed to access the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch using a Web Browser.

Please click on Login option and try to access the Switch GUI using the login credentials.

Switch default credentials will be as mentioned below.

Username: super

Password: sp-admin

If the above credentials don’t work, you can try the default credential combinations below as well.

These usernames and passwords are key sensitive, please use capital letters where necessary.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience.
