I purchased a brand new Lennar home with NEW Ruckus equipment (ICX7150-12, and 2 R510 APS). All was fine until Ruckus pushed a bad update that caused the switch to boot in router mode after power loss. I have had problems ever since the bad update.
I have resolved all issues with the switch. I am having serious issues with the two R510 APs. I CANNOT get them out of recovery mode.
I have performed factory resets, upgraded firmware via tftp, and I can access CLI. What I can't do is get one of them to become Master nor can I get them out of discovery mode.
Both APs are running version 200.15.6.12.304
I have performed every step in the guide to reset Unleashed (except could get neither AP to Ruckus#, both were rksci which is extremely limited coding). This is the guide I followed: https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Self-Help/How-to-reset-entire-Unleashed-network-for-r...
One AP has IP address of 192.168.0.2. The other, 192.168.0.3. Here are pertinent screenshots:
WHAT I AM ASKING FOR IS:
HOW can I get one of these APs to assume master and get out of "Discovery" state so I can use Unleashed app to reconfigure my network?
I have tried web interface and indefinite response is: "Building the Unleashed Network" It may take FOREVER.
I have tried the app using direct ip address and it will not connect. I even attempted to change "Recover.Me" said to Configure.ME and log in. This was the closest I came to getting access. The app attempted to connect several times, it even said "Great! You are connected to a Ruckus..." however, after a few minutes it resolved to say "although you are on a Ruckus device, please wait until the Wifi signal shows on your phone". It never did.
AGAIN, all I want to know is how to get one of these APs out of Recovery/Discovery and assume the Master role.
Thanks

Hi @jwdietrich
Greetings!!!
Thank you for reaching out to the RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your RUCKUS setup.
Based on the detailed information provided, it appears that you are encountering issues with the RUCKUS Unleashed access points.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and are committed to assisting you promptly.
We suggest you perform a physical factory reset of the RUCKUS Access Points.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We must perform the physical factory reset on only ONE connected Access Point to the Switch and that will act as a Master after a successful rest is performed. As you have 2 R510 Access Points in your setup, remove the cables of any ONE Access Point from the Switch port and perform the factory reset only on the ONE connected access point. Once you complete it, connect the unplugged Access point cables back to the Switch ports and it will sync up with the configurations from the factory reset Access Point.
Please refer to the below RUCKUS Lennar Knowledge Base self-help article for the physical factory reset process.
Please let me know if you need help at any point during the process.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
Imran Sanadi

Imran,
BOTH APs were completely removed from the switch. I performed the factory reset on the AP that used to be the master while it was connected to the switch, second AP not connected. I performed the factory reset at least 20 times. Every time it would boot into Recover.me and never assumed the master role.
I disconnected that AP and connected the other AP. I again performed the factory reset at least 20 times. Neither AP would boot into Configure.Me and always booted to Recover.Me.
As I said in my original post, I can access the CLI of both APs, I upgraded the firmware to the recommended newest version, reattempted factory resets with the upgraded fw with zero luck.
Is there anything that needs to be configured on the switch's startup.cfg file that will help facilitate the AP to join and assume the master role?
Is there anyway to configure the AP through CLI when it is in rkcli ? Ruckus documentation says you can program as master by executing set election role 2 however, the AP will not accept that command and the only allowed options are "0=Clear" and "1=member". It also states that when in rkcli:(config ap-mode): you have full rights. I attempted to enter "ap-mode" numerous times without success. How can you enter ap-mode when in rkcli:?
Answers to my questions would be very helpful.
Thanks!
