Constant disconnections

Recently moved into a Lennar home with two Ruckus APs. I currently have a network setup through Ruckus APs (very unreliable) and a network through my ISPs modem/router (reliable). When trying to use the Ruckus Network (preferred) I experience quite a few issues.

1. Apps on my phone (including pool maintenance software app) do not function or connect.

2. While on work calls/meetings, my VPN/network will continuously interrupt/disconnect (Roughly every 3-5 mins). Making it unusable.

I've had nothing but issues with the Ruckus equipment since moving in (especially after a power outage).

Very little experience in APs/Networks any help is appreciated to diagnose and fix these issues.

Hi @rgkst2

Could you reboot/unplug and plug back in your  Router ( ISP) or Ruckus switch?

1-Disconnect from the VPN After this, run the scanner or access the router (ISP) and see the connected devices.

it should appear as Switch-Router - Switch - Ruckus etc.

Here is a Quick guide :

2-Once you know the IP address from the ICX switch please log in via

3-Here is a quick guide to understand how to fix the 'routing code issue' but basically you need only need to run the following commands once you are on the command line 'CLI'

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable
copy flash flash secondary
boot system flash secondary yes

example:

ICX7150-24P Router>enable (hit enter to accept the command)
ICX7150-24P Router#copy flash flash secondary (hit enter to accept the command and wait  : until the flash finished )
ICX7150-24P Router#boot system flash secondary yes ( hit enter to accept the command  : the switch will reboot )

boot system flash secondary yes

I do not have the username or password for the switch. It is different than my Ruckus Unleashed login. I checked the switch physically and do not see any info attached, how do I go about resetting this?

Hi @rgkst2

Try the next combination:

Usernames:           Passwords:

admin                    sp-admin

super                     Lennar

                               lennar

                               ruckus

                               Ruckus!

                               Ruckus1

                               admin

                               password

Note: if you know the IP address of the Switch, you can follow up the next guide to fix the routing code issue, but from WEB GUIDE means from your web Browser, there is no need to run commands.

I have tried all of these. None work.

Hi @rgkst2

Ok, let's perform a hard factory reset to the Switch, then try to gain access via Web guide with the default user and password:

username: super

password: sp-admin

Tutorial video for factory reset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jHMTdo_hK4

Factory reset steps:

  1. Remove power from the switch.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button while applying power to the switch.
  3. After all the system LEDs flash amber, release the Reset button. When all the system LEDs blink green, all the configuration data are erased and the switch is returned to its factory configuration. When all the system LEDs are solid green, the erase process is complete and the system reloads. Once reloaded and the SYST LED is steady green, the factory reset is complete.
