Wifi Extender not extending WiFi power button red

I am experiencing an issue with my Ruckus WiFi extender. The power light is showing a solid red light, and none of the lights for 5G, 2.4G, Air, or CTL are illuminated. Despite attempting to reset the device using a paper clip, I have been unable to restore functionality. This issue is preventing me from improving the WiFi signal on my ground floor.  Does anyone know hoy to remediate this issue.

Hi @Traderjoe05

Greetings!!!

Thank you for reaching out to the RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your RUCKUS setup.

Based on the information provided, it appears that you are encountering issue with the RUCKUS Access Point with a RED PWR LED.

Could you please unplug it's ethernet cable from the current port and connect to any other available 1 in-12 ports on the Switch port? (Refer to the below screenshot)

Once done please check if that resolves the issue with the RUCKUS Access Point.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hello,

I switched the port I connected the Ethernet into and the power light is still red on the ground floor access point unit but green on my upstairs access point unit for all lights.

I unplugged the power from the device in my basement and plugged it back in from the and I changed the port on the unit in my basement and still no success on the ground floor access point.

After that I tried to remove the access point from the ceiling and manually reset the unit after unplugging the Ethernet cord and plugging it back.

Any thoughts on what’s wrong still?

Hi @Traderjoe05

Thank you for your response and the information provided on the private chat.

We kindly request that you connect your RUCKUS R510 Access Point (AP) to a functional power outlet using a 12 VDC power adapter and share both pictures and a single video showcasing the light status, the cord connected to the APs, and its connection to a working power outlet. Please refer to the example pictures provided below for guidance. Usually, you will find the 12 VDC adapter connected to your ISP’s (Internet Service Provider’s) Router/Modem-Router combo device.

For the video upload, we have created a designated link for your convenience. You can access it via the following link: (Refer to the EXAMPLE VIDEOS from this drive link)

Kindly shoot a video similar to the EXAMPLE Video provided in the link.

In the video, please ensure to capture the following:

1. Show the plug of the ICX-7150-C12P Switch being connected to a working outlet.

2. Simultaneously, display the light status on the switch.
