TFTP upgrades to Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P, now APs are not conntected

I just returned home from a long deployment. I was working on upgrading my ICX and APs to get them current.

I have successfully upgraded to 08080f and now cannot get 08095h or higher to load via TFTP. in this process, I have lost my APs throughout the house and now have the Recover.me-XXXXXX network showing.

I cannot log in to the ICX IP as I do not have the password. I am trying to mitigate the situation without having to "hard reset" everything and start from scratch.m I cannot get the APs IP address to connect via the browser GUI interface either. Lennar did not leave the serial cable that came with the products in my home either.

Please help as my wife and I both work remotely and this is hindering our production.

Hi @Dekers73B

Thanks for your response,

If the given usernames and passwords doesn't work we need to perform password recovery process. Here I share the steps on how to perform password recovery process.

We need physical access to the ICX-7150-Using the console connection.

Here is a short guide on how to console in the ICX-7150-C12P

1.Start a CLI session over the serial ( console access) interface to the RUCKUS ICX device.

2-Enter OS mode. This uses a key combination and drops below the fastiron operating system

Key Combination: Ctrl+y, release, tap 'm', tap 'Enter'

OS>

4-just write reset

OS>reset

5-.While the system is booting, before the initial system prompt appears,
enter b to enter the boot monitor mode.

Enter 'b' to stop at boot monitor: 0

In this Part you have to press B before the counter ends

6-Enter no password. (You cannot abbreviate this command.)

ICX7650-Boot> no password
00 00 00 00
OK! Skip password check when the system is up.

7-Enter boot. This command causes the device to bypass the system password
check.

ICX7650-Boot> boot

8-After the console prompt reappears, assign a new password.

device> enabledevice# configure terminal
device(config)# username USERNAME password PASSWORD

To reconnect the APs we need to check the LED status of the switch and the access points. So please share the image of the switch and the access points showing the LED status and the cable connections.

Once your APs are connected we can upgrade the switch to the latest version 08095H.

Please let us know if you have any queries in this regard.

IS there a script that I can load from a USB device outlining the above for the password reset?

Or can I access the system with a USB-C to USB-c connection?

Please disregard my last response.

Here is the following after attempting to use the Password Bypass CLI:

Hi @Dekers73B

Thanks for your response,

Based on the images you have shared it seems like the cable coming from the router/access points has been wrongly connected to the switch.

Also please make sure the cable is actually connected to the ICX-7150-C12P ( Switch ) In one of the 12 ports in the middle

Once you are done please check the LED status of the switch and the access points and let us know the result.

Please let us know if you have any queries in this regard.

Best regards,

Jayavidhya
