Lennar home with Linksys router that provides internet to Ruckus dumb switch ICX 7150-C12P and 3 Access points. Linksys reboots and provides internet but no longer able to connect to the Ruckus.  Is there a software update or fix for this?

Hello @kjcamut

Thank you for the information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that your RUCKUS setup is not working, and Access Points do not have power.

Could you please let us know the answers to the below queries to assist you better?

  1. Was this working before or is it a new installation? If it worked before, was there any power outage before you started facing this issue?
  2. On your switch while it's plugged into the outlet, do you see any lights on? (Amber or green) Please let us know which lights are on. (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same, showing the light status and the FULL Switch panel cable connections to the Switch ports)

  1. Is your Internet Connection from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) stable and working? (You could check this by connecting to your local router Wi-Fi or from an ethernet cable from the Router to a laptop/PC).
  2. May I know how many Access Points are connected to the Switch? Could you please let me know the light status on the Access Points? Any of these lights are on (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same)

Please help us with pictures of your ICX-7150-C12P Switch showing the status of the lights and cable connections to the Switch ports. Also, light the status of Access Points.

Before uploading the photos please log in to the RUCKUS account and you can upload the image.

Please let us know the answers to ALL the above queries or let us know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience.

Kind regards,

Hi @kjcamut

When you mentioned, "We did reboot the entire system and this is when the Ruckus did not come back up," could you please clarify what you meant? Did you specifically reboot the Ruckus devices, or was it only the unit from your ISP (Linksys switch), or did you reboot all of them?

If you did reboot the Ruckus switch, could you provide details on how you performed this reboot?

Currently, I can only observe one AP; are the lights on the other two Access Points the same?

Can you confirm whether you can see the Lennar Wifi network associated with your Ruckus devices? If so, are you able to successfully connect to it?

 Kind regards,

Sofia Gätjens

1. The reboot was a power off of the Linksys router and the Ruckus switch.  The lights on the other 2 access points are similar.

2. Not sure what you mean by Lennar wifi but the Linksys router is working and if you are close enough to it you can connect to it for internet access.

Hi @kjcamut

Thank you for the information you shared.

We need to access to the ICX-7150 C12P via CLI (command line) this can be done via remote or console.

You can use any scanner to know which IP address belongs to your ICX7150 switch or if you have access to your Linksys router, you can try to find it there or you can use the following guide:

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-find-my-Ruckus-Device...

If you prefer access via console here is a quick guide how to access via CLI of the devices

How to remotely access to 'ICX 7150-12P' or 'access points' "Network devices"

If you can access to the Command line should look like this

ICX7150-C12 Switch>

Write the following commands:

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command:

ICX7150-C12 Switch>enable
ICX7150-C12 Switch#show version

Copy and paste the results on the chat (here)
