Hello,

Our ruckus router signal is very weak in the study room which is affecting my work schedule. I work from home, so please send a technician at the earliest as I have a work deadline.

Hi @ramya145

Greetings!

We completely understand how stressful it is to deal with weak Wi-Fi when you have a tight work deadline. While we aren't able to send a technician out for on-site visits through our forum support, we are absolutely here to help you get this sorted out remotely via this forum!

Let's walk through a few quick steps together to see if we can get Ramya's connection running perfectly:

1. Check the Laptop’s Connection (Unleashed Diagnostic Tool)

First, let’s see exactly how Ramya's laptop is communicating with your network:

Head over to the Clients tab in your Unleashed Dashboard.

Locate her work laptop (it will show up under her computer's name or MAC address).

Click on her device and select the Troubleshooting button.

Verify which Access Point (AP) she is connected to: Sometimes devices get "stuck" connected to an AP on the other side of the house instead of the closest one.

Check the nearby AP: If she is connected to a distant AP, or if you suspect the one near her study has gone offline, take a quick physical look at the nearest AP. The Power light should be solid, and both the 2.4G and 5G signal lights should be active (glowing either solid green or orange).

2. Make Sure the AP is Getting Full Speed (Ethernet Negotiation)

Next, let’s make sure the AP near her room is receiving a strong, full-speed connection from your main router or switch:

Navigate to the Access Points tab in your dashboard.

Select the AP near her study room.

Click on AP Info to view its stats.

Look for the Ethernet Negotiation status. It should ideally say 1000 Mbps (which means it's getting full Gigabit speed).

Note:  Keeping your system updated can solve a lot of sneaky background connection bugs! You can easily check if your APs need a quick update by going to: Admin & Services > Administer > Upgrade.
