R320 AP Flashing CTL Light

Mjohnson

We had a power outage a week ago and one of two R320 APs works and the other has a flashing green CTL light and solid green power light. When logging into the system, it shows the one AP is disconnected. I have tried 1) rebooting the system, 2) just plugging in the “disconnected” AP to the switch/router, 3) doing a reset on the AP, 4) using a different cable to plug into the switch/router and 5) plugging the “disconnected” AP into the switch/router port that the working AP uses with no luck. My assumption is that the AP has failed but I’m open to suggestions to hopefully correct the issue.

Hello @Mjohnson1 ,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that you are unable to login to the Switch using CLI

We would need to find the IP address of the switch and then use the IP address to login to GUI of the switch using the web browser.

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-find-the-IP-Address-o...

Once we identify the IP address of the Switch proceed to access the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch using a Web Browser.

Please click on Login option and try to access the Switch GUI using the login credentials.

Switch default credentials will be as mentioned below.

Username: super

Password: sp-admin

If the above credentials don’t work, you can try the default credential combinations below as well.

These usernames and passwords are key sensitive, please use capital letters where necessary.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience.

I have tried all password combinations, tried connecting via wireless and ethernet, tried connecting via serial, SSH, Telnet and web browser with no luck.  I have tried pinging the switch/router and I get a message that the "Destination host unreachable".  I see from the previous boot record that it is booting the router code from the secondary partition.  Is there any other way to login to the switch/router to correct this issue?

I just tried the following procedure

And I tried the following to connect via USB

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-console-in-the-ICX-71...

but receive “TFTP Timeout” and am not able to connect to the switch/router. Any ideas how to connect?

Hello @Mjohnson1 ,

Thank you for the response.

Please make sure that the IP address of the TFTP server is correct by verifying it matches the IP address of your computer.

Check your computer’s current IP address using tools like ipconfig on Windows, and ensure the TFTP client is configured to connect to that exact IP address.

Additionally, make sure the Windows firewall is disabled, as it can block TFTP traffic and cause timeout errors.

Please let us know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I was finally able to login to the switch/router.  I see that it is running router code which is in the secondary flash.  I tried the command "copy flash flash secondary" but I get the following error.

I receive the same "TFTP session in progress. Copy is not allowed." when trying to copy the updated SPS08095gufi.bin file to flash to upgrade from the current 08090d.  Any idea how I can force the TFTP session to stop so we can copy to flash?
