Just moved in

Hello,

We just moved into a Lennar home. We are the second owners. I cannot connect to my Ruckus. The Ruckus is not discoverable via wifi connection. On the Ruckus board, it says the Wifi Name is Lennar-XXXXXXX (I left the numbers off), and has a password provided, but that wifi does not show on my phone or my laptop. I used Advanced IP Scanner software and found an IP address to a Ruckus unit. When I type that IP address into my browser, the Unleashed Login pops up but I cannot log in. I have tried the admin username and every password that is provided on the Lennar password page. So I am stuck here. I am not sure what to do next.

Hi @gloverau1

Thank you for the response and the detailed information you shared.

CTL light will turn on only on ONE Access Point which acts as a master on a unleashed system.

Here is the meaning of each light on the Wireless Access Point so you can use it as a reference.

As I see from the Pictures you shared. All the cable connections and light status on the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch, and Access Points seem to be normal.

Now we may need to factory reset the APs. Please follow the below process to factory reset your APs to configure them with a new Wi-Fi SSID.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To perform a factory reset correctly on one of the access points, you must disconnect the rest of your other access points from the "ICX-7150-switch". For example, if you have 3 access points, you should go to the switch and disconnect 2 of the cables to turn off the "2 access points" and only leave 1 connected with which we are going to work the factory reset once you configure the access point and make sure all is good, go ahead and reconnect the other Access Points back.

In your case please remove the ethernet cable of one of the Two Access Points and perform a factory reset on the other connected Access Point. Once you complete the factory reset process, plug the unplugged Access Point back into the Switch panel.

I have a few questions. How did Ruckus connect to the wifi? It is a new wifi, so how would it recognize it?

My 2nd question goes back to the initial post. I don't have access to the Ruckus website. The Ruckus doesn't show up on my wifi connections, so I can't access it. Therefore, I can't change the password.

Hi @gloverau1

Thank you for the response.

Please find answers to your queries below:

1. RUCKUS Access Points do not connect to the Wi-FI. AP itself broadcast the Wi-Fi SSID to factory reset by connecting to it and configure.

2. Once you connect to the configure.me-xxxx Wi-Fi SSID during the process of factory reset of the Access Points, you can access unleashed.ruckuswireless.com on a web browser to configure the APs.

I would suggest you follow the factory reset post carefully, that I have shared in my previous post. You will get an idea and understand the process exactly.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Thanks for helping me, Imran.

I completed all the following steps and got some progress. I was able to factory reset the control AP and connect to it via wifi. I followed all the steps in the following thread and got to step 10.

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/Ruckus-Unleashed-Set-up-usin...

After step 10, it did not let me reconnect to the newly established AP. My phone stated that it could not connect to the wifi because no there was no internet connection. I also noticed that the AP did not rename to the name which I had chosen. It is still named "Configure.Me-XXXXX".

The power light on the AP is blinking. I looked up the error code and it is usually caused from not being able to find the IP. I checked all the ethernet cables and ensured they are connected to the 1-12 slots on the Ruckus board.

When I log into the Unleashed App, it allows me to view the AP that I created, but it says "Internet connection is down".

Please advise what steps are next. I can send whatever pictures are necessary.

Hi @gloverau1

Greetings!!!

Thank you for the response and the update.

Could you please perform a factory reset to the Access Point from a web browser? (Please refer to the below videos and guide).

Please make sure you have only ONE Access Point connected to the Switch on which you perform the factory reset. And once it is done, you can plug the other APs back into the Switch ports panel.
