ICX 7150-C12P factory reset not initiating?

Disclaimer: I am not tech savvy so I apologize if I don't use the right terms.

I moved into my first home and found the cable box a complete disaster. I eventually found the Ruckus switch and 2 access points mounted on the ceilings. However, it seems that none of the ports on the back are configured for POE, so I attempted to use the switches IP to login and troubleshoot the issue. It appears one of the previous owners may have changed the password, because none of the default usernames and passwords I've found have worked.

I attempted a factory reset of the switch, but it doesn't seem to initiate. I've done the following steps:

Unplug power, press factory reset button for 10-15 seconds, turn power on while continuing to hold factory reset button (I've tried holding it for anywhere from 5-60 seconds).

The only thing that happens as soon as I turn the device on (while holding factory reset button) is that the status lights briefly flash amber once, the system light turns yellow, the power light turns green. Eventually the system light turns green.

Am I doing something wrong?

I would suggest following the manual. Bear with me if you have already read it.

Complete the following instructions to perform factory reset. Performing the factory reset applies to switches running FastIron 08.0.70 and later.

  1. Remove power from the switch.
  2. Press and hold the Reset button while applying power to the switch.
  3. After all the system LEDs flash amber, release the Reset button.

When all the system LEDs blink green, all the configuration data are erased and the switch is returned to its factory configuration. When all the system LEDs are solid green, the erase process is complete and the system reloads. Once reloaded and the SYST LED is steady green, the factory reset is complete.

Hi Kmahnke93,

Thank you for posting.

I would suggest making sure the Ethernet cables are properly connected to the switch ports. The ports will show green LEDs when there's activity.

If so, then you may continue with the switch login process, as it seems the previous owner changed the credentials we will need to do a password recovery. Its a fairly simple process, check this articles:

How to reset the ICX-7150-C12P Switch login credentials (username/password)-for Lennar Home users

I hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know!
