How to reset the ICX-7150-C12P Switch login credentials (username/password)-for Lennar Home users

Issue Description:

This guide helps in getting the information on how to reset the ICX-7150-C12P Switch credentials (username/password) when they are unknown, or Default Credentials don’t work. This can be reset using the Command Line (CLI) access to the Switch.

Environment:

• Product(s): RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch.
• Software / Firmware Version: This could be on any version.
• Other Conditions: -NA-

Below is the process on how to get CLI access and reset the Switch credentials:

1. First, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local ISP (Internet Service Provider) Router to the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch. Below is the guide on how to find the same.

2. Once we identify the IP address of the Switch proceed to access remotely the device “Command Line Interface” (CLI).

If you are unable to find an IP address of the Switch, the only option is getting console access to the Switch.

Here is a guide on how to access the Switch via console (cable access between your PC to the ICX 7150-C12P) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard OR Console cable Rj45 to USB (Any one cable- please refer the guide)

If you can access the Command line (CLI)/Console should look like the below prompt:

ICX7150-C12 Switch>  OR

telnet@ICX7150-C12 Switch>  (When accessing CLI using Telnet option when SSH doesn’t work)

Please enter the below commands once you log in to CLI to check the same:

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

ICX7150-12P Switch>enable

ICX7150-12P Switch#configure terminal

ICX7150-12P Switch# username super password pass

Where the username is ’super’ and password ‘pass’ (You could choose any of your choices)

 
To allow the correct authentication please run the following commands:

ICX7150-12P Switch (config)#crypto key generate rsa

ICX7150-12P Switch (config)# aaa authentication login default local

Note: It will take some time to get synchronized with new reset credentials.

Now we can try using these new reset credentials (username/password) to log in to the Switch.
