Description:

This article walks you through the factory reset process for RUCKUS R510/R310 Access Points and how to create a new Wi-Fi network (SSID) from scratch. It’s designed for homeowners who want to restore their devices and get their wireless network back up and running smoothly.

Environment:

  • Product: RUCKUS R510/R310 Access Points
  • Switch Model (if applicable): RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P
  • Firmware Version: Any
  • Tools Needed: A smartphone or computer, and access to the device's physical reset button

When Should You Perform a Factory Reset?

You may need to factory reset your Access Point (AP) if:

  • You can’t log in because the default username or password doesn’t work, and you don’t know the custom login.
  • You’re experiencing Wi-Fi or internet issues, even though your switch and internet service are working fine.
  • You’re setting up a new home network or reconfiguring your current setup from scratch.

Important Note Before Starting:

Only ONE Access Point should be connected to your switch during the reset.

Here’s what that means:

  • If you have multiple RUCKUS APs (e.g., 3 units), unplug all but ONE that must be connected to the RUCKUS Switch.
  • Perform the reset on this ONE AP: It will become the Master Access Point.
  • Once the configuration is complete and confirmed to be working, you can plug the other APs back in. They will automatically sync settings from the Master AP.

Password Recovery Setup (Highly Recommended)

If you’ve forgotten or lost your Unleashed system credentials, it’s strongly advised to reset and configure new login credentials during the setup process.

Additional Tips:

  • If setup fails or stalls, try repeating the factory reset process.
  • To manage your system in the future, visit:
http://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com and log in with your admin credentials.
  • Make sure your Switch and ISP modem are powered on and stable before starting the reset.
  • After plugging the other APs back in, allow a few minutes for them to sync with the Master AP.
  • Label your APs or note their placement to avoid confusion during troubleshooting in the future.
  • Use a strong, easy-to-remember Wi-Fi password to secure your new network.
  • Periodically check for firmware updates using the Unleashed app to keep your system secure and efficient.

Still stuck? Don’t worry it’s common. Resetting the device and using the setup wizard usually solves the issue quickly.

I performed a hard reset by pressing the reset on the R510

Red light cam on, then the green flashing,

My laptop network manager never recognized the "configure.me.xxxxxx"

Now the R510 is on green lights but orange for 5g

But I still can't logon because I couldn't rest the password.
