R710 in Configure.Me-XXXXXX mode

I have an R710 in Configure.Me-XXXXXX mode.  It was connected to a SmartZone 100 controller and has since been removed from the controller.

I can connect to it with the Configure.Me SSID and the S/N of the unit.  The IP of the unit is 10.154.231.125 as it should be, and I can ping it successfully.  As it used to be on a SmartZone, I suspect http and https are disabled.  I also cannot connect to it via SSH.

I can also connect and ping it on the POE port of the device as the unit successfully does get an IP.  Once again here I cannot http, hhtps, or SSH to it.

Firmware is 5.2.xxx

Is there perhaps a way to manually add this unit back into the SmartZone to see if it will connect back?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Shawn,

If you are able to ping the AP but unable to SSH, I suggest trying factory reset it and see if you can access it over it's IP and SSH.

If not, you may have to open a case with support and request for a replacement.

Tried that multiple times.  Does anyone know if I can manually add this back into the SmartZone to give that a try?

Without getting into the AP, it is not possible to check why AP is not joining controller.

If SSH is not working, there is no way AP can connect to controller.

Hi Shawn,
If the AP is getting the IP from DHCP, then you can try the option 43 settings from the DHCP. This will set the controller IP on the AP so that it can join automatically.

Below is the example on how it is done using the Microsoft DHCP server.

Also, try connecting to the AP directly, if you have a POE injector\adapter then you can do it.
Once you connect, see if you can ping and SSH into it. If you are still unable to SSH into it then it is a problem. We need SSH to work since the AP uses SSH to form the tunnel with SZ.

If direct connection to AP and factory reset is not working, then contacting the support team is the best option.
