SNMP mib configs and SNMP query strings

Hi,

When i have a range of  AP's on a zone director 1200 ,the zone director flashes the firmware, to match the ZD.

So Which set of SNMP files do i use for the setup, to query the  individual AP's

do they fall under the Zone directors, SNMP  MIB files for the relevant SW,

or do I still need a separate MIB files for each  AP with a different model number. , and if so WHICH MIB files, since the separate MIB files are tagged with the firmware number in the down load section and for Zone directors flashed version, they are not available.

so i can query the serial number for the ZD1200 with:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.25053.1.2.1.1.1.1.15

what do i need to query each AP? (R500) ,since

.1.3.6.1.4.1.25053.1.2.1.1.1.1.15 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

is returned for the AP's

Hi,

I don't think you can query APs directly if they are managed by ZD.

All the OIDs will hit ZD and ZD will provide the available information.

There are no separate MIBs for ZD managed APs.

it seems not correct.

you can address both the  ZD1200 AND the access point....

it looks like maybe the  ZD  SNMP settings "bleed" down to the access points.

Also there are  strings in the MIBS that are inconsistent or defined more than once for different SNMP quires.

Hi,

There is no direct SNMP configurable option for APs. However, you can enable SNMP Inherit option on ZD SNMP settings.

This is what I already explained in my previous comments "All the OIDs will hit ZD and ZD will provide the available information".
Also there are no separate MIB file for the ZD managed APs.
