R500 not compatible with ac-7260

Just installed zd1100 and r500s, worked ok when eventually got hold of relevant firmware. (new customer) Having problems connecting tosh with intel ac7260. Seems problem is to do with channelfly and .h messages. Works if select one channel as this disable channelfly. (tried on standalone unit). Been asked to manually set channel in ZD as test but need to check interference. Other option to set run stop time. Running build 101 and have downloaded build 108 but not sure if it includes any fix. First ruckus install so not overly happy.

I have googled the Intel AC7260 card and there are many threads talking about problems with dropping off or slow speeds. It seems that on the PC side much of these have been solved with later Intel drivers but it seemed to take more than a year to sort this out. Of course with Chromebooks we are at the mercy of Google to embed new drivers in and update of Chrome OS. I am trying to get a sense whether this affects all enterprise wireless (Aerohive, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Extreme, etc.) or is just limited to Ruckus.

Any thoughts?

From what I can tell, it seems that this is affecting all providers.  If you search google for 7260 along with the brand of wireless, it seems to pull a lot of threads related to these problems.  Kevin, is there anyway I could get the ruckus case number on your problems?  I am getting very frustrated with my current case.  It is quite old and all the resolutions we have tried have basically been a huge waste of my time.  All the logs that we pull on the clients/aps are really no help and the engineer that is involved is not offering any new info from the previous calls.  Thank you.

What are you using to test throughput? I have an R700 and R710 on loan along with an HP Chromebook with an Intel AC7260 nice. I want to see if I see the same low throughput

We also have a Dell E5540 that just happens to have the same 7260 card as well.  We have had nothing but problems with this system as well.  Updating the drivers seemed to help, but dell has replaced the card within the first week and it didn't fix anything.  This card was also installed exclusively on the E7740.  Dell is coming out again tomorrow to replace the wireless card for a third time.  They will not give me a different brand or model card no matter how high I go up the ladder.  After the driver update to 18+ it seems to have improved.  At least it maintains a connection.  Keep in mind we have had 3 separate enterprise wireless network solutions in place since the purchase of the dell E5540.  Oddly enough it didn't work on any of the different branded solutions.  Including:

  1. HP (Colubris) MSM422 also MSM460 on a ZL765 controller ($32k install)
  2. Ubquiti UAP-AC installation.  Using 3.2.1 firmware
  3. Ruckus R710 on 9.12.0 build 148

We are using speedtest.net to test most of the speeds.  We are seeing 20-10mb transfer rate, and extended test time.  On other branded cards we are seeing 200mb+ transfer rates.  I haven't had time to install a local speed test server yet, but it is planned.
