Ruckus AP R320 configure to be managed by unleashed

Hello team!

I am quite new with ruckus APs and we started to manage a Unleashed instalation.

We just get an Ruckus AP R320 to be added in our Ruckus Unleashed network (Wich was configured by another people, we have credentials), which have already 14 Ruckus APs
As I read in Internet, this should appears in the Ruckus Unleashed automatically, but it does not appear.
I tried to restart to factory defaults but still the same
I found this: https://vworld.nl/?p=5723
But I dont want to change firmware until I know this will be compatible with the current unleashed

Could you please tell me how to add the new AP to my ruckus unleashed?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Damián

Hello @damianhlozano

The current firmware version on the AP is 114.0.0.0.6565, which is standalone version that's why AP is showing in standalone mode.

Please upgrade the AP to the FW 200.13.6.1.319 by using the below KB article and set the director IP.

Hello @damianhlozano

Could you please share the below CLI output from the AP R320

#get director

#get ipmode wan

#get ipaddr wan

#get version

Also please follow the below step-

1- Performed the factory reset on the AP.

2- Install the unleashed 200.13.6.1.319 firmware version on the AP

3- Run the command- set director ip <IP address of the controller>

You can use the GA release. It is General Availability release build. Any new complete feature release. In this context, a feature release is a release introducing significant new software features and/or hardware platforms.

Thanks Ayush!

Here the results:

rkscli: get director
------ ZoneDirector Info ------
Primary Controller : 10.1.1.231
Secondary Controller : n/a
DHCP Opt43 Code : 3
AP is in Stand-alone mode.
OK

rkscli: get ipmode wan
IP Mode: dual
OK

rkscli: get ipaddr wan
IP Address: (dynamic, vlan 1), IP: 10.1.1.59 Netmask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 10.1.1.254
OK

rkscli: get version
Ruckus R320 Multimedia Hotzone Wireless AP
Version: 114.0.0.0.6565
OK

I had permormed the factory reset on the AP

I will try with this firmware, but from my poor knowledge, it seems to me that the AP is in Standalone mode, how can I change this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ayush!!

Finally worked!!

I did not know that I needed to upgrade firmware to change the standalone mode

After the upgrade, this appears in the unleashed dashboard.

Thanks again
