webauth and client username

We wanted to start using webauth authenticated with active directory for our byod network. I was able to get that up and going, but have found that when a user authenticates and connects their username doesn't appear in clients on the connected device, it is just blank. Is this to be expected or is there something I'm missing? We would like the ability to be able to see who is authenticated on what device.
