Ruckus T350c on vSZ

Hello, I have doubts about buying new equipment. Since we are using vSZ (HS) on 5.1.2.0.302 firmware can we activate the Ruckus T350c.

Since we can't find anywhere on which firmware version (vSZ) that outdoor works.

Thanks

The T350c can be managed by the SmartZone 6.0 firmware version. What other devices and models are you managing on your SmartZone?

@commscope_conner

Unfortunately the controller vSZ (HS) we are using now is on the firmware version 5.1.2.0.302. The number of AP we have is about 2400. We have from ZF 7xxx, Rx00 to RX10 series. They are legacy devices and we have 70% of it.

For these devices we use AP firmware 3.6.2.0.695. We now that we can use a firmware n-2 and that is ours setup. And that's a big problem.

We don't now how to use clusters, and can we manage with clusters different firmware's.

Can we upgrade controller on 6 or higher and keep manageability on legacy AP working on AP firmware 3.6xxxx?

You cannot cluster two SmartZone instances with different firmware versions. What you could do is run an active-active controller environment. Move all your current APs that can be managed by 6.0 (R500, R600, and RX10) and the AP management licenses to a new instance running 6.0. Then as you replace the ZF 7xxx models, you can move the licensing from your legacy controller to your updated controller.

"Then as you replace the ZF 7xxx models, you can move the licensing from your legacy controller to your updated controller". Did you mean to physically replace AP. We have 223 ZF models and 503 R300 models (model that does not work on 5.o firmware).

What to do with those devices. Throw it away?

We already have that setup with controller 5.1.2.0.302 and AP legacy firmware.

Our ZF 7xxx and Rx00 models have been EOL. This means we don't write code for them anymore. They are great models, but they don't take advantage of the new wi-fi 6 benefits like BSS coloring, 1024-QAM, OFDMA, or TWT. If you desire to keep them and purchase new wi-fi 6 models for your environment, you will have to run separate instances, as you know.
