How to make an open guest network more reliable for macOS?

Hey everyone,

Org is a macOS environment and we consistently get reports of users having a hard time connecting and staying connected to the isolated open guest network. Either the guest access portal doesn't automatically pop (have to manually go to the Cloudflare DNS in a browser) or once they do connect, they will have a hard time connecting again a day later. While the issue doesn't happen to everyone, it happens frequently enough that it becomes disruptive.  We disabled the session duration and maxed out the session timeout/grace period. Just not sure what else we can do to make this more reliable... is this more of an Apple issue?

Hello Techiesttech,

Thanks for reaching out to Ruckus.

Enable “Bypass CNA” on the guest WLAN in SmartZone. This prevents Apple devices from relying on their probe logic and forces full browser redirect (more reliable).

Use Click-Through WISPr instead of Guest Access Portal. This behaves more like a normal web login and is more compatible with macOS.
