I need help - have lived in my house since 2019 and the house is a "smarthome".  The switch is docked in the laundry room, and the access points (2) are in the 1st and 2nd floor ceilings.  I have never been able to use them and dont understand how to.

Hi Brittany88

Thank you for reaching us.

Since you’ve mentioned that the devices haven’t been used before, could you please confirm whether you’ve attempted to access them within the network?

Additionally, could you let us know if you’re associated with Lennar Homes ?

For initial guidance on these devices, please refer to the Knowledge Base articles linked below, which provide helpful information to get started.

Thank you

Hi Brittany88,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I understand that you have two ceiling-mounted R510 Unleashed access points (APs) located in the laundry room, one on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd floor. The house was delivered as a "smart home," but the Wi-Fi has never been set up.

Please follow the steps below to set up the Wi-Fi:

1. **Power over Ethernet (PoE):** The R510s require PoE, which usually comes from a PoE switch.

2. **Check the connection:** Once you connect the AP to the switch, check the lights on the AP. A green or amber light indicates that they are powered. If there are no lights, the switch might not be providing PoE, or the APs may not be cabled correctly.

3. **Identify the network:** By default, new or factory-reset R510 Unleashed APs broadcast a Wi-Fi network named something like "Configure.Me-xxxxxx." On your phone or laptop, scan for Wi-Fi networks to see if this network appears.

4. **Connect to the network:** Connect to the "Configure.Me" Wi-Fi network (this may require no password, or there might be a sticker/code on the AP). Once connected, open a browser and navigate to https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com or https://192.168.0.1. This should bring up the Ruckus Unleashed Setup Wizard.

5. **Run the Setup Wizard:** Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Wi-Fi SSID name and password for your home Wi-Fi. Set an admin username and password for the system. The APs will automatically discover each other—one will become the Master, and the others will join.

6. **Connect to the Internet:** Ensure that your Internet router or modem is connected to the uplink port on the Ruckus switch. The APs should receive Internet access through the switch and the router.

Please let us know how it goes.
