non working extenders

I don't know how long the extenders haven't been functional. I have to depend on wireless network to make phone calls and finally decided to switch providers because of frequent dropped and missed calls. that's when I found out the extenders were not functioning. I had to get a new ruckus box 2 yrs ago but I don't remember why. can anyone help?
