To Ruckus Support,
Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with my home network setup and need assistance getting it fully operational. Here's a summary of the current setup and problem:
Environment:
Switch: Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P
Access Points: (3) Ruckus R510
1 AP set as Master (Gateway Mode enabled)
2 APs connected via Ethernet (wired)
Modem/Gateway: AT&T Fiber Gateway (IP Passthrough mode)
Goal: Use the Ruckus system as the main router/gateway and have all 3 APs connected, managing DHCP and DNS.
Issue:
After enabling Gateway Mode on the Master AP and connecting the AT&T gateway to Port C2 (10Gb SFP+ uplink) on the ICX switch:
Only 1 of the 3 APs (the Master) connects and functions properly.
The other 2 APs show as disconnected in the Unleashed dashboard.
Wired clients connected to the switch do not get internet access.
Wireless clients occasionally receive IPs (from the 192.168.2.x pool), but no reliable internet access via IPv4.
DNS and Gateway appear unreachable from the Ruckus dashboard at times.
IPv6 pings work, but IPv4 fails (e.g., 8.8.8.8 returns destination unreachable).
Steps Taken:
Set AT&T Gateway to IP Passthrough mode.
Connected AT&T modem to port C2 on the Ruckus ICX 7150.
Enabled Gateway Mode on the Master AP.
Configured WAN IP manually (192.168.1.199) and DHCP range (192.168.2.2 – 192.168.2.200).
Set Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS to 1.1.1.1.
Reset and reconnected 2 of the APs. Only one came back online.
Restored AT&T gateway as temporary DHCP/DNS server for client functionality.
Assistance Requested:
Confirm the correct port and configuration for WAN uplink (C2) on the ICX 7150-C12P in Gateway Mode.
Guidance on how to bring the remaining AP(s) online after factory reset.
Troubleshooting why wired and wireless clients can't access IPv4 internet through the Ruckus Gateway.
Clarification on whether any VLAN settings or switch port configurations are needed for WAN and LAN separation in this setup.
Thank you in advance for your help — looking forward to getting the system fully online.
Best regards,
Jeff Weiler

Hi @MJ
Greetings!!!
Thank you for reaching out to the RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your RUCKUS setup.
Based on the information provided, it appears that you are encountering issues with RUCKUS Switch and Access Points (APs).
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and are committed to assisting you promptly.
Please find answers to your queries:
1. Confirm the correct port and configuration for WAN uplink (C2) on the ICX 7150-C12P in Gateway Mode.
- Ethernet cable coming from the ISP Router or any device must be connected to any 1 in-12 ports (Refer to the screenshot) of the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch, as yours's is connected to an incorrect port please connect to any of the 12 ports, once connected, reboot/restart your ISP router and check if APs becomes operational.
2. Guidance on how to bring the remaining AP(s) online after factory reset.
- Follow the answer 1 and check if APs become operational.
3. Troubleshooting why wired and wireless clients can't access IPv4 internet through the Ruckus Gateway.
- Follow the answer 1 and check.
4. Clarification on whether any VLAN settings or switch port configurations are needed for WAN and LAN separation in this setup.
- Usually, there is no VLAN required for Lennar Homes, unless it is required for personal work reasons.
Please follow the instructions and let me know how it goes. Should you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to resolving this matter for you promptly.
Best regards,
Imran Sanadi

Dear ImranUnleashed Dashboard View
Wifi Properties Network settings,
Thank you again for your prior guidance regarding our RUCKUS Unleashed deployment in Gateway Mode. With your help and some persistence, we’ve made significant progress—but we’re still experiencing one outstanding issue with our third AP that remains disconnected despite numerous troubleshooting attempts.
Environment Summary:
Model: RUCKUS ICX 7150-C12P switch and R510 access points
Mode: Gateway Mode enabled on Master AP
Topology: AT&T Gateway in IP Passthrough → ICX-7150 (standard PoE port) → three R510 APs (Master + 2 Members)
Progress: Two APs are now online and functional. The third AP will not connect.
Issue with Third AP:
Factory reset multiple times via reset button
Power light is solid green
CTL light blinks slowly
No lights on 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands
Remains disconnected in the Unleashed Dashboard
Ethernet port on the ICX switch shows active link
Additional Concern:
The Master AP’s power light is blinking, even though it appears fully connected and functional in the dashboard.
Screenshot included for reference.
Steps Already Taken:
Verified Ethernet cabling, tested multiple switch ports
Confirmed AP receives PoE power
Performed ARP scan after factory reset (MAC not found)
Attempted client import by MAC in Dashboard
Verified no VLAN configurations
Rebooted router and switch
Attempted isolating the 3rd AP
Attachments Included:
Please find attached a ZIP file titled Ruckus_Support_Attachments.zip which includes:
Unleashed Dashboard view showing AP status
AP light behavior photos
Switch cabling
Command prompt results
MAC address scan outputs
We’d greatly appreciate your insight to bring the final AP online and ensure the Master AP behavior is expected in this configuration.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Jeff Weiler

Hi @MJ
Greetings!
Thank you for your response and the update.
I noticed that you mentioned IP Passthrough is currently enabled on your AT&T router. When passthrough is active, your Switch or Access Point (AP) or any connected devices are assigned public IP addresses directly from your ISP. However, for proper functionality in a Lennar Home RUCKUS setup, these devices should be assigned private IP addresses within your local network.
This configuration could be the root cause of the issue you’re experiencing. I recommend disabling IP Passthrough on your AT&T router and then testing the setup again.
Please let me know how it goes or if you need any assistance with the steps.
Thank you once again for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
Imran Sanadi

Dear Imran and Ruckus Support Team,
Thank you for your continued support and guidance.
As per your recent instructions, I confirmed the following actions were taken:
Reconnected the Ethernet uplink from the AT&T gateway to one of the 1–12 standard ports on the ICX 7150-C12P (removing it from the incorrect port).
Disabled IP Passthrough on the AT&T router and rebooted the device.
Restarted both the AT&T gateway and the Ruckus switch in sequence.
Reset the final AP to factory settings to attempt rejoining the network.
Currently, 2 out of 3 APs are successfully online, and devices are now obtaining proper IPv4 addresses and have internet access. However, the third AP remains disconnected, as seen in the Ruckus Unleashed dashboard.
For reference, I’ve attached two images:
Screenshot of the Ruckus Unleashed dashboard showing the disconnected AP.
Screenshot of the AT&T router status confirming Wi-Fi radios remain disabled and passthrough is turned off.
Please advise on next steps to bring the final AP online.
Thank you again for your assistance and support.
Best regards,
Jeff Weiler
