Switch Stuck in Router Mode

I already know what the issue is and I need to send the switch in and receive a new one. According to the support specialist I spoke with: “Confirmed Switch listed as router on ISP device table. Unable to Telnet to flash image.

Nothing can be done in order to remotely fix the issue and new hardware needs to be sent.

Thank you for the information you shared,

From the case description, I could understand that your RUCKUS Switch is booted on Routing Code. 

Apologies, we cannot replace the unit as this Routing Code issue is a software issue that can be resolved with the troubleshooting steps. 

If you are unable to access the switch via Telnet. Please try to access via SSH with port number 22 and log in with a Switch username and password. And please make sure you sure the correct IP address of the Switch (Please refer to the below guide to verify the switch IP address).

If you are still unable to take CLI Access to the Switch, it can be done by taking access to the console of the Switch.

Here is a guide on how to access to the Switch via console (cable access between your PC to the ICX 7150-C12P) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard or Console cable Rj45 to USB.

If you access should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router>

Once you are logged in to the ICX-7150-C12P please follow and perform the below commands.

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command 

enable

show version

copy flash flash secondary 

boot system flash secondary yes 

(Please share the output screenshot of the ‘show version’ command to check your current Switch version, if the upgrade is needed to avoid this problem in the future)

ICX7150-24P Router>enable (hit enter to accept the command) 
ICX7150-24P Router#copy flash flash secondary (hit enter to accept the command and wait: until the flash finished) 
ICX7150-24P Router#boot system flash secondary yes (hit enter to accept the command: the switch will reboot)

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I have no experience in IT. You're asking me to complete certain steps, use certain commands/programs, and connect certain cables between my device and my switch that I do not have. How do you expect the average persons to complete these steps? I understand that this is how your company would like to handle support request but I can easily say that I won't be able to do these steps.
