Ruckus ICX-7150 C12p showing green and amber light and not powering R510 AP

I recently moved into a 4 year old Lennar home which has ICX7150 C12p switch and 2 R510 AP's.

Spectrum guy connected his modem and router and its working. But when I connect the ethernet out of router to one of the 12 ports of switch, I don't see any lights coming up on the port. AP's are also not showing any lights. There are only 2 lights on switch which are green and amber. I've power cycled switch and router several times but no luck. I've seen some posts advising on resetting the switch by inserting a pin but with that I kept seeing flashing amber lights and no green lights. I have no experience of connecting a laptop to a switch for configurations.

Can I get some help on resolving this issue. can we have someone come out and fix it for us?

Hi @RuckusIssues

Greetings of the day,

Based on your description your switch has one green and one yellow light, it means that the switch is stuck in boot mode. If the resetting process doesn't work, we need to perform a software recovery.

Here is the quick guide to perform software recovery.

Note: after fixing the issue of the Switch been stuck in boot mode, please perform an upgrade to the code 08095g UFI and upgrade both partitions with the switching code file named SPS08095gufi.bin, so perform the software recovery using the code 08090k with the upgrade image file named SPS08090k.bin, then when the switch is back to normal upgrade to the file SPS08095gufi.bin for both partitions primary and secondary.

Can you please send me the steps to be used from a MAC instead of PC? I tried searching around but couldn't find it.

Hi @RuckusIssues

Please follow the below steps for MAC console access to switch also steps to perform software recovery.

Mac iOS system solution

1-Install the drivers on your machine to read the cable type C to console the switch ( ICX-7150-C12P )

Software:

Link:https://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/1413-brocade-ruckus-7150-usb-serial-driver-mac

2-After successfully installing the Mac Drivers, open the Mac terminal, when you see the command prompt do the following:

Enter this command:

ls /dev/cu.*

This command will display something like this:

One of those logs will say something similar to /dev/cu.SiLabs_Serial (which is related to the drivers you installed)

3-Then enter the following command using the name of the installed driver that was displayed:

screen /dev/cu.SiLabs_Serial 9600

4-Hit Enter and you will have access to the ICX7150’s CLI.  (Comand Line)

Once you gained access to the CLI please follow the step 5 in the below link and download the firmware, we require performing the software recovery.

Thanks. I was able to console in to the switch and run the software recovery. switch is back online now but before the software recovery process finished, it stopped at POE switch port 3 and 5 where my AP's are connected and eventually started giving message saying TFTP session time out. I had to close the terminal after that. Both AP's are working fine along with all ethernet connected devices.

I wanted to check if I need to do the whole process again? or do I need  to install a newer version of Image and boot file this time?

Also I see on ruckus.unleashed.com, one of my AP's show speed 100mbps(Master with 20 clients connected) and other one shows 1GBPS(member with 8 clients connected). is there something to be fixed here?
