Ruckus APs not working

Kanakaboy92

Hello,

I woke up today to my ruckus APs not broadcasting their SSIDs. After some research I was thinking maybe they upgraded their firmware overnight and the new unleashed firmware may require the ICX7150 to be on newer firmware as well. I updated the switch to 8.0.95B from 8.0.90B, but the three APs still wouldn’t connect.
They’re only online intermittently which is making it difficult to diagnose the issue.
One of the APs, when online, shows “building the unleashed network” on the web interface. All three APs have static IPs assigned by the router (ubiquity ER-4).

Any direction in getting these APs back online (ideally with their current configuration as I run multiple VLANs) would be very appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @Kanakaboy92

Thank you for the response and the information.

Yes, any 12VDC Power adapter should work.

Please unplug the ethernet cable from the PoE port of the AP and connect the AP with a 12 VDC Adapter. Perform the same factory reset process, by pressing the reset button with a paper clip and try connecting configure.me.xxxxxx SSID broadcasted from that AP to configure and check.

Please check and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hi Imran,

I was able to factory reset successfully using the power adapter. I went through the configuration process, but the AP is not broadcasting the SSID I gave it. Even after 10 minutes of waiting it’s still only broadcasting the configure.me network.

Hi @Kanakaboy92

Thank you for the response and the information you shared.

Yes, it’s not broadcasting the SSID you configured maybe because you are not connected to the Internet by AP. The main purpose was just to confirm if you can factory reset the AP using the power adapter. As you are able to perform it successfully, meaning AP is working normally.

Now I would suggest you unplug all the ethernet cables, and USB Type-C cable (As I see it connected from a picture you shared) from the Switch ports, reboot it once. Now only plug ISP Router and One AP ethernet cable to any 1 in-12 ports. Please try performing a factory reset.

Please check and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

This one AP is working now with only it and the router connected to the switch. How do we get the two other APs back online?

Hi @Kanakaboy92

Thank you for the response and the update.

Now, please plug the cables of other 2 APs to any 1 in-12 Switch ports and try to connect.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
