Ive tried restoring the bak file and it wont do anything. The AP is connected to a router and it is unable to get an internet connection. Unit seems defective and shows up as lifetime warranty on the site.

Have you connected the RUCKUS Access Point directly to the Internet Service Provider's (ISP) Router?
