R510 Access Point Has No Power or Signal

Experienced power outage.

Ruckus WiFi stopped working when house power was restored.

Tried unplugging the ICX7150-C12P-2X1G (S/N FEK3845Q21Y) router for 15-20 minutes and turned back on.  The unit had amber and green lights, but still no lights on the R510 access point (s/n 471972000211).  Repeated again and have the same results.

Tried removing the access point cable at both ends (router and ceiling) and replugging.  No lights still on the access point.

Performed a reset on the ICX7150 and it came back with amber and green lights, but no lights/power to the access point.

Please provide a fix.

Please advise what to do if COM3, COM4, or any other com does not work. I only get com3 and com4 in port in device manager and both are some bluetooth enabled and do not look like the one in your example

BTW I am using a USB-C to eternity adapter to connect to the ethernet port

Hi  @groshon8

For console access ( to access to the CLI command line for the ICX-7150 ) the cable should be ( ICX - 7150 C12 P ) USB type C to USB  ( PC ) as the below on the picture :

usb.png

That Step is only needed to get access to the Command line for the Switch the next step is to get data ( between the ICX and  PC )

If your PC does not have an Ethernet port you can use an adapter  :

That step it was for data transfer ( both steps are needed it to complete the software recovery process )

Once we are there, we can try to boot up the unit using the following commands:

Boot_primary or Boot_secondary

If that step does not work Software recovery needs to be applied

Thank you for the quick response and clarification. I thought it was either/or. I reset my switch for about the 10th time this time holding it down for a full minute instead of 10 to 15 seconds. Finally my AP have repowered and are working again. Any idea why this could be the case. 2nd time in 2 days that after a power outage and many resets it finally randomly worked.

Lastly is there anywhere that you guys have a detailed diagram of what the flow should look like and specifying which ports we should be using. We have the main ports I know but there are the 2 ports to the left and then the additional 4 to the right that I have no idea what they should be used for.

Lastly, would you still update given I am now back up and running? 2 years ago a rep had to provide me with the proper image as the reboot was going to the wrong image (secondary should have been primary) and that resolved the next few power outages but now we are back to square 1 it seems. Every power outage we lose the power to the APs

Hi  @groshon8

1-Great to hear that !!! that now your Switch is back !

This happens because the switch can't load the images correctly, that's why it goes to this boot mode, as we mentioned we can try the reset sometimes it doesn't work, so we have to proceed with the Software recovery, this is the most appropriate step, but We include all the steps because we know that the reset is the easiest option to try and does not need any additional cables.

2-Of course we have a guide and diagrams to show you where everything should be connected correctly.

3-If you already had a session with us in the past and we fixed the know routing code issue you shouldn't have any problems.

4-What I would recommend is a version upgrade to the Switch to the recommended version

Here are some guides so you can follow up when you have some time there are 3 options  :

We have 2 ways to access to the Switch 1- In a logical way via Ip address (Ip address are logical addresses given by the local router) so we would have to track which IP is that of the Switch (that is using).

1-This guide show you how to track the IP address of the Switch

1-The other method to access to the switch is via console (cable access) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard or Console cable Rj45 to USB.

Here is the guide on how to access through the console and pre-install the necessary software
