ICX 7150-c12p is running Routing code cannot fix

I believe that this is my issue, but I cannot get into the ICX7150 to fix it. If my AP is attached to the 7150 when I try to log in I get the message "This site can’t be reached". If I unplug the AP from the 7150 then I can get to it using the IP address, but no password will let me in. I have all the symptoms of this being my problem, but I cannot fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Success! My network is up and running with the switch and 2 APs.

Basically I used puTTY to connect to my switch using Telnet. Then I followed the steps in the "How to Upgrade a Switch ICX-7150-C12P using a USB flash drive" instructions. After I updated to Version:08.0.95hT211 (SPS08095h.bin) the switch took close to 15 minutes to reboot. After reboot I had to use SSH to get back to the switch. Telnet no longer worked.

I'm happy to help anyone else who has a similar problem.

Hi @AArthriticGamer

Based on your description, it looks like your Switch (ICX7150 Switch) may be booting from the secondary partition ( Note: Secondary partition contains the routing code)  which is causing the bad connectivity issues. This could happen after multiple power outages, please follow up the next guide.

Note:  if you have access to the Unleashed Dashboard and the Switch can be seen from there, it may look like the following image, ICX7150-C12-Router instead of ICX7150-C12-Switch, now before starting the steps of the guide, I will advise you to cable the computer directly to the Switch, since you will have a better connectivity than if you connect via wireless.

  1. After fixing the issue of the Switch booting from the wrong partition, please perform an upgrade to the code 08095g UFI and upgrade both partitions primary and secondary with the switching code file named SPS08095gufi.bin, take into consideration that is the Switch is running a code lower than 08080 you need to upgrade twice, from the code you are to 08080f and then the recommended code 08095g UFI.

Thank you for your response, however I am still stuck. Here is my problem

  1. I cannot see the switch on the unleashed Dashboard
  2. I can see the switch using Advanced IP Scanner and if I log directly into my Cox Gateway
  3. The switch shows up as ICX7150-C12 Router
  4. If my Ruckus R510 AP is plugged into the switch and I enter the switch's IP address in the URL bar I get a message that the address does not respond
  5. If I unplug the Ruckus AP I can then get to the logon screen, but I cannot log on.  I have tried every combination of username/password listed, including the one I use to log on to the Dashboard (unleashed.ruckuswireless.com/admin) in all of the documents. No matter what I enter it just redisplays the logon screen. When I cancel I get a message saying "ICX7150-C12 Router is protected"
  6. With the Ruckus AP plugged in the results of a ping is destination host unreachable
With the AP unplugged I am able to successfully ping the switch
  7. If I plug my laptop directly into the switch I cannot access the Dashboard or the switch no matter if the AP is plugged in or not

What do I try next?

Thank you,

Randy

Hi @AArthriticGamer

Please confirm the LED status on the access points (PWR/ CTL / 2.4 / 5G).

UPDATE

I have been able to telnet into the switch using puTTy and have changed both flash to SPS08080d and rebooted the switch.  I am now in the process of bringing the switch up to date using the "How to Upgrade a Switch ICX-7150-C12P using a USB flash drive" instructions.

I will post again to advise if that was successful.
