ICX 7150-C12P switch random reboots

Therealx24

My ICX 7150-C12P switch is currently up but is randomly rebooting itself. I have a single R510 AP connected to the switch. This started happening several days ago; the switch reboots about every 10-20 minutes, stays up for a while, then starts rebooting itself again randomly. The AP has been updated to the latest 200.14 firmware.

I verified my internet connection is functioning normally (had Spectrum tech out to check yesterday).

How do I go about resolving this issue?

Hi @Therealx24

Thank you for the response and the update.

We suggest upgrading your switch to the latest stable version as your Switch is on an older version that is 08080d. (as highlighted in the below screenshot)

Please follow to the below steps explaining the Upgrade process.

The recommended stable versions is 8095g (08.0.95g)

The Upgrade path would be: 08080d (your current version)>>8080f>>8095g

(PLEASE NOTE: Use 08095g patch in place of 8095h as explained in the guide)

Your Upgrade folder should contain these 3 files shown in the below screenshot: (Refer the guide link for more information)

Below are the options or methods to perform the Upgrade on the switch: You could choose any one of these.

1st Option:

1. In this option, we will use a pen drive or USB flash drive in which we move the files to the pen drive and connect it to the Switch then through CLI we execute the commands to upgrade the Switch using the following guide as a reference:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-Upgrade-a-Switch-ICX-...

2nd Option:

2. The following guide is an example of an upgrade via TFTP server, by using an application (FREE) to send files or upload remote files to a device, in our case, we will use it to update a new version to the Switch, basically it will send the image version remotely from the computer to the switch.

3rd Option:

3. In this option we Upgrade the Switch from the Web Interface (GUI) of switch.

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-perform-an-Upgrade-vi...

Try to access your switch from a web browser by pasting the below URL in http or https form whichever that works.

https://0.0.0.0 or http://0.0.0.0 (IP address of Switch. 0.0.0.0 is just as an example)

As you can access CLI, I would suggest you follow the 2nd option.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Hi @Therealx24

Thank you for the response.

First, we could just try rebooting by disconnecting and connecting the Switch from the power outlet.

Please check and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

I rebooted the switch as suggested... the CLD light is still blinking green. What does that mean?

I have Internet connectivity at this point, but the switch is still not showing up in the dashboard. I'm also still seeing the green CLD light flashing continuously on the front of the switch. How do I get the switch to show in the dashboard and stop the CLD light from flashing?Screenshot 2023-07-21 125419.jpg

Hi @Therealx24

Thank you for the response and update.

May be your Switch is trying to sync with Unleashed system as CLD is light is blinking (Please refer to the below screenshot and the link.

https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/icx7150-installguide/page/GUID-45937574-0953-40F5-84A9-16FBF4F408B...

Please follow the below steps to get Switch in sync with Unleashed. We will Add it to the Unleashed.

Steps to synchronize the Switch (ICX-7150-C12P) to the unleashed Access Points:

Switch side:

Make sure the management approval is enabled.

https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/unleashed-200.9-onlinehelp/page/GUID-A887C55E-6973-4496-9413-302E8...

Access Points (unleashed) :

On the Unleashed dashboard

1- Remove the existing Switch from the Unleashed (Please refer to the below picture):

2-Hit Add on that dashboard

3-Put the IP address of the ICX switch (ICX-7150-C12P) and Password– If you don’t know the IP Address of the Switch. Please perform the below command from the Switch CLI to get the same.

Device>enable
Device#show ip address

4-Username and password for Switch authentication are the same as what you use to log in for Switch on Web or CLI (Putty).

https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/unleashed-200.9-onlinehelp/page/GUID-30C6694A-6AEE-4DF8-9459-1AB18...

To sync the data, it will take sometime, and it should say connected.

Once the Switch gets synchronized, please check the dashboard again.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

I'm seeing an error: SSH service is not enabled on ICX 192.168.0.121. Please manually enable it on ICX.Screenshot 2023-07-21 160738.jpg
