ICX 7150-C12P not showing in IOS App

WF_DUB

I have a lennar home and for about the past 2 weeks my ICX 7150 is not appearing on the Unleashed app. How do I resolve this issue?

Second question: This switch has a USB-A port for external storage (512gb i think). How do I access this port as a NAS, if that's what it's designed for?

Third question: How do I control MAC addressing to a specific port? I am assuming once I get the switch pack to appear on the iOS app I could control it from there? Or do I need to access the USB-C port?

Hi @WF_DUB

Hope you are doing well !

Is great to see that you are up and running.

In order see the ICX in the unleashed app is a bit tricky because you have to generate an ssh tunnel so in simple words is like private tunnel between the access points and the ICX.

1-Make sure the management approval is enable

https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/unleashed-200.9-onlinehelp/page/GUID-A887C55E-6973-4496-9413-302E8...

2- It would be great if you enable LLDP/RSA protocol on the switch side here is the commands:

Device>enable
Device#config terminal
Device(config)#lldp run
Device(config)#crypto key generate rsa

3-Hit Add on that dashboard

1-Put the IP address of the ICX switch

2-Username and password for Switch authentication like web page ( not the unleashed credentials )

Hi @WF_DUB

1:There are some requirements for you to view the Switch from the Unleashed APP or Dashboard; however, it cannot be managed from there, it will rather be monitoring the connected devices and allow you to update it locally, know the reason it may not show up, it may not be running the minimum 08090 UFI firmware, let me add the guidelines that will help you:

A:You are required to access the Swith to confirm if it has the minimum firmware and to reset it, as it is part of the steps to add it, however, it is not always necessary, you may just need to update it.

2:The USB port for the Switch can be used to perform an upgrade or perform a back-up let me add the guides for more information:

3:MAC addressing is not something you can control, because the MAC is the physical ID that each device will have, maybe you are referring to IP addressing, and the DHCP protocol which is responsible for providing the IP to all devices connected via Wi-Fi or wired to the switch are managed by your service provider's router because the Switch is not configured to run DHCP, now it is capable, but it is required that your ISP router must be able to route multiple subnets, now you can access to the switch via SSH, telnet and console, also you can enable port security in your Switch to limit the device can be learned per port, but normally this is more for enterprise network.

Note: hope the information provided clarified your doubts.

Hi David,

I am lost on step 2 of your first link, not sure how to identify which IP is specific to the switch. None of the physical addresses given match the MAC sticker on my unit.

Second link: there are tons of downloads available and the instructions don't state which one to download. Which do I use?

1: try this other Guide to find your Switch IP address, Important this will work as long the switch is connected to your Internet Provider's router, which is the one that provides the IP to the Switch.

2:Make sure, to download the firmware you need, first gain access to the Switch, and check what firmware you have, then if it's lower than 08090, the upgrade must be performed, and with the guide confirm the two firmware code you require 08080f and 08095g.

Hi David,

I was able to get the IP, and connect via PuTTY. the current SW: Version 08.0.80dT211. I have downloaded both 08080F and 08095G.

I have now downloaded the TFTP tool and accessed the folder item.

When I run PuTTY with the command "copy tftp flash 10.45.19.152 spz10114.bin bootrom":

  1.  Instead of the 10.45.19.152 I used by IPv4 address of the PC i'm working form (per the directions).
  2. I also replaced the spz1011.bin portion to mnz10114.bin as that's what's in the boot folder of the download.

When I hit enter, I get the "Invalid input" message
