How to Reset Lingering, Old SSIDs (Old thread unresponsive)

Roger_Carvalho
New Contributor

Hello,

Please see prior thread here (https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/Access-Points-Indoor-and-Outdoor/How-to-Reset-Lingering-Old-...) which went unanswered, hence I am posting here for further assistance.

The last message I received was from @sanjay_kumar as follows:

"Hi @Roger_Carvalho
Please follow the below instructions:
1. Connect the Laptop to the SSID.
2. Open the browser and enter the APs IP or URL https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com
3. Enter the credentials of admin users.
4. Go to  Admin & Services -> Administration >> Choose Local Upgrade >> Upgrade >> Select the firmware version 200.14.6.1.199 and upgrade.

The complete instructions is there in the below link"

I responded:

"As to item No. 3, to my knowledge, I have never set up any credentials for admin users when the smart home was set up for my household.  What should I do?"

My question above is still pending, please advise.

Sincerely,

Hi @Roger_Carvalho

As these APs will be configured by the vendor, I have shared you on a private message with the common passwords which they will set.
If they are not working then you will have to contact the vendor once for the login credentials.

Would you happen to know who that vendor would be?  As far as I am concerned, your company would be the vendor for this product.  Your system was installed as part of the "smart" home set up for my Lennar home a few years ago and I have had this issue for a long time now without any real solution from your team.  Is this forum the only assistance your company provides for these cases?  Is this really the only way to reset this device?  It looks like a defective device if I cannot reset it by "standard" means.

Hi @Roger_Carvalho

We have a dedicated support team for the Lennar home setup, I have asked them to help you in checking the setup and resetting the AP.
They will be reaching out to you on this.

Hi @Roger_Carvalho

Greetings!!!

Thank you for contacting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

I hope you are doing well!!!

Thank you for the detailed information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that your RUCKUS R510 Access Points aren’t working.

Please follow the below process to factory reset your APs to configure them with a new SSID.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To perform the factory reset of the Access Points (AP) correctly there must be only ONE AP connected to the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch port and others must be unplugged. For Example: If we have 3 APs connected to your Switch ports, we must unplug the 2 APs and keep only ONE AP connected on which we will perform the factory reset. This will act as the Master Access Point. Once we complete the factory reset process with all the configurations and make sure it’s working as expected, we can plug the unplugged APs back into the Switch ports and will sync up with the configurations from the factory reset Master Access Point.
