Cannot Connect to Configure.me

I recently purchased a previously owned Lennar home and I am struggling to get RUCKUS set up. So far I have:
- Factory reset master AP (identified by solid green CTRL light)
- Connected 2 APs to one of 12 ports
- Connected coax -> ISP modem -> wireless router -> switch (one of 12 ports)
- Confirmed internet connection by wifi connection via router
wired connection from switch to computer
- Identified configure.me wifi connection

The step that I am having trouble is actually trying to connect to Configure.Me-XXXXXX network. I have tried both my iPhone, and Macbook without success. For the phone, it just constantly shows its attempt at connecting to the network. When I try to use RUCKUS Unleashed app, I get "You are connected to config.me however the connection to the Unleashed AP is not established yet..." For the laptop, after 20-30 seconds I get unable to connect to the wifi icon.

Since they are typically requested, I was going to upload photos of the switch set up and AP lights but for some reason the forum states "You do not have permission to upload images."

Thank you in advance for your assitance

Jayavidhya,

Below are the screenshots. Basically, the phone is stuck on a perpetual "connecting" icon, and the laptop says it cannot connect. I do have a computer that I can hardwire directly to the switch but I don't know if you can configure AP that way.

Hi @hjkim1187

Thanks for the response.

It seems like you are having trouble while connecting via SSID. If you can not connect via SSID you need to configure this via IP address you need to identify which IP address is using your Access Point then copy and paste it in a URL to start the setup via browser :

Jayavidhya,

I had difficulties with this method as well using my laptop but with my PC I was able to identify IP address and get into unleashed.ruckuswireless.com. It turns out the old Wifi Network was still on (I don't know how since I reset the switch and AP). I was able to remove it and set up my own.

The issue I am having now is that when I use the new Wifi network, devices connect fine (with good signal) but the internet access seems very spotty. At times it works at expected speed, but most of the time I cannot get any data through. It's not due to ISP since I can connect my PC to ICX switch and get internet working AND the wifi network via the router seem to work fine.

I wonder if it has anything to do with these 3 things?
1. The Configure.Me XXXXX network is still on for some reason
2. On GUI, switch is marked as disconnected.
3. Wifi on router still being active

Hi @hjkim1187

Please share the output of the following commands by following the below steps.

  1. To fix this issue, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local router to the switch ICX-7150-C12P

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-find-my-Ruckus-Device...

  1. Once we identify the IP address of the switch proceed to access remotely to the device “Command Line”

How to remotely access to 'ICX 7150-C12P' or 'access points' "Network devices":

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-remotely-access-to-IC...

If you can access the Command line should look like this:

ICX7150-C12 Router>

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

enable

show version

Show flash

Hi ALL,

I don't know why, but seems these few years no one from Ruckus can provide a correct and down to the earth method to figure out the secret password for the configure.me SSID after reset the AP. I hit this issue as well recently. Our ZD was dead, so we have to reset all AP and wanna to upgrade the firmware to unleashed. I did this exercise for a R510 already, finally it's now connected to the unleashed network even the overall process is so strange and tried many time. But now when I do the same thing for the R320, it's strange again... after reset back to factory setting, I can't sign in to the web portal with the default uid & pwd: super/sp-admin (I'm not yet upgrade the firmware but I can see the configure.me SSID already once reset the R320), I can use the default uid & pwd for my R510 before. That's why I suffering on the Internet to look for the default password for the configure.me SSID... some people said it's the serial no. of the AP, but I tried and tell you it doesn't work. I don't know why Ruckus side still no official document to tell the customer about the password.. seems it's really a top secret.... anyway, anyone can tell the us directly here what's the hell password for the configure.me SSID??? Thanks!
