Adding the second WAP

Hello,

I just bought and moved into a Lennar smart home built in 2019. I have a ruckus ICX switch and 2 R510 WAPs. I am able to connect one WAP as the master upstairs that is holding the internet and functioning well. I reset the WAP downstairs but it has the solid green power light and slow flashing CTL light. There is a configure.me wifi signal from this router. But i cannot seem to find any instructions on how to troubleshoot this additional WAP. If I log on the configure me it is prompting me to establish a new network but does not seem right? Or Im I supposed to set it up the way I did the master? I guess I could set up a new wifi network with same name and password but doesnt make sense. It also is prompted another admin and recovery password so again doesn't make sense to me. I've researched online and it seems that these access points connect automatically. But why isnt mine doing this?

I also have issues logging onto the management site.  I ordered an ethernet connector for my laptop on amazon so that I can connect it to the switch directly to see if I can access the network management.

Hope someone can offer some help.

Thanks

Hi @navin28

Greetings!!!

Thank you for contacting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

I hope you are doing well!!!

Thank you for the detailed information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that you need assistance in setting up your RUCKUS devices in your recently moved Lennar Home to access the Internet via it.

Please unplug and plug the Non-working Access Point’s ethernet cable from the Switch port panel. Once you plug the Access Point should sync with the Master Access Point.

If the above step doesn’t work, we may need to factory reset the APs. Please follow the below process to factory reset your APs to configure them with a new RUCKUS Unleashed Wi-Fi Network/SSID.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To perform a factory reset correctly on one of the access points, you must disconnect the rest of your other access points from the "ICX-7150-switch". For example, if you have 3 access points, you should go to the switch and disconnect 2 of the cables to turn off the "2 access points" and only leave 1 connected with which we are going to work the factory reset once you configure the access point and make sure all is good, go ahead and reconnect the other Access Points back.

As you have 2 R510 Access Points in your setup, remove the cables of any ONE Access Point, and perform the factory reset only on the ONE connected access point. Once you complete it, connect the unplugged Access point cables back to the Switch ports and it will sync up with the configurations from the factory reset Access Point.
