Access point not automatically connecting

New Lennar home owner - I have so far been able to get the master access point up and working - how do I connect the other two access points ? I followed the steps in

step 8 says the other access points should automatically connect but they are not doing so. I started over and repeated the steps even two more times and nothing.

please help
