Ruckus 7550 Stack Password Recovery Help

Hello,

I have 2 7550 stacked that I do not have the password to. I am trying to get in and change the password but when I followed the steps in the link below, I am able to get in but when I do a show run it shows a blank configuration like the device was factory reset. I do not want to impact the 2nd switch in the stack as it still is up and running with live traffic on it. My question is did i do something wrong or how do i go about changing the password without losing the configuration?

Hi @ kvon12

When a unit is part of a stack, both units share all the data, and the password belongs to both, if you are looking for a factory reset you can factory reset just one, but we got to the same, when you reconnect the unit to the stack will get the password associated to the stack, so the password recovery will always affect both and is your best option, now options will change according to the version you are running, let me add both options including the tutorial video.

Good morning and thanks for the reply.

I guess I'm still a bit confused. If I follow the instructions above while in a stack it will boot with the password regardless of the no password command in the boot monitor. Do i need to shut down one of the switches, boot up into boot monitor and do the no password command, log in and change the passwords then boot up the 2nd switch in the stack in order for it to pull the new config from the active switch?

Thanks again.
