Ruckus ZD 3000 working on Centralized Architechture

Hi

We have a ZD 3000 controller on premise, since our branches have expanded we want to add access points in the branches and manage from a central location.

Can someone advice if this scenario would work, if so what must be the workaround ?

Thank you

Yep, that will work, depends on how the remote location are connected to the main location, but even over the internet it will work if you forward the correct ports from the firewall to the controller
AP > ZoneDirector LWAPP UDP destination ports 12222 and 12223
AP > ZoneDirector (AP) firmware upgrade TCP port 21 (the firewall must be stateful for PASV FTP transfers)

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the suggestion

The locations are connected over MPLS to the main location, also each branch has an ILL / Broad band Link, to access the applications the users will use the MPLS and to access internet the users will go through the ILL which is terminated on the firewall.

now will the Access points communicate through the MPLS or Through the ILL?

just connect the AP's once at the main location, so they make a connection with the controller, if you move them to another location then they will connect again to the controller
you also can do this via DHCP (option 43) at the remote locations, or can use the CLI to set the controller address ('set director ip x.x.x.x' and reboot the AP (out of my head, check the documentation to be sure))

That sounds logical,

Shall check out these options....
