IoT-capable APs, vRIoT, Node-RED, and Philips Hue - for beginners

Hi.. are there any resources to help me get started with the IoT capabilities of the APs, and vRIoT? I’d ideally like to start experimenting with Philips Hue lights and motion sensors, Node-RED, IoT capable APs and vRIoT. I could do with a newbies guide to getting started with hooking it all together..

Thanks in advance for any pointers..

Cheers, James

Hi James,

We have a detailed installation guide that provides all instructions on how to setup/install vRIOT server.
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/2910-ruckus-iot-1-4-ga-controller-software-installation...

Plus we have configuration guide that also help on how to manage the vRIOT server and manage the IoT devices.
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/2911-ruckus-iot-1-4-ga-controller-configuration-guide

Please go through them and let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Both

Thanks for the information.  I probably should have mentioned, I already have vRIoT up and running - that's a simple 5 minute deployment. The video unfortunately is just a high level overview of IoT and the Ruckus ecosystem.. what I need is to understand the specific practicalities of getting something simple up and running, such as hooking in Philips Hue lighting and Node-RED.

I was under the impression that vRIoT would essentially be able to replace the functionality of the Hue Bridge, and I could use Node-RED to control the lighting and sensors etc.  Am I incorrect in this assumption?

Are there any pre-built nodes/flows for Node-RED?

Thanks for any info

Cheers, James
