Hi @nevets23
Sure, I understand.
You can do this from the Master CLI as I mentioned.

The full line is below.  I opened a support case and the number is 01714805.

    SmartRoam = Disabled  Roam-factor = 1

Hi @babington_amalf

I believe you have enabled the below option enabled on the SSID:

If yes, then please enter the below commands in your Master and check if the client is still not disconnecting from the farthest AP and re-joining to nearest AP.

ruckus> en
ruckus# config
You have all rights in this mode.
ruckus(config)# wlan "Ruckus"
The WLAN service 'Ruckus' has been created. To save the WLAN service, type 'end' or 'exit'.
ruckus(config-wlan)# smart-roam 5
The command was executed successfully. To save the changes, type 'end' or 'exit'.
ruckus(config-wlan)# end
The WLAN service 'Ruckus' has been updated and saved.
Your changes have been saved.

Hi Sanjay, I do have 802.11r FT Roaming enabled.  Since that is enabled, why are you also suggesting to enable Smart Roam?

Hi @babington_amalf
When the client roams, it need to disconnect from the current AP and then reconnects to the new AP. This happens when the client reaches to a certain SNR threshold. The threshold is defined based on the Roam factor.

Reducing the roamfactor improves the roaming performance. It would be great if you can try the settings and see the performance.

Sanjay Kumar
