Hi All
My current Ruckus Vsz is running on version 6.1.0, while most of our newer AP have already been upgrade to AP firmware 6.1.0, I do have some zone that contain older AP such as R500 that are still using AP firmware 5.2.1. I am always wondering if there are going to be any potential issue or limitation that come with it?

Hi Ceaser,
Good day to you.
I understood that you have R500 AP models under old 5.2.1 zone code. R500 models are supported on the below mentioned Controller firmware's and zone versions and this model doesn't support from 6.1.x ( either 6.1.0 or 6.1.1 ) which means these model AP's can be managed in 6.1.x only if they are under Older or Lower firmware codes but not directly on 6.1.x zone codes.
The below mentioned Highlighted Firmware codes are supported for R500 model:
If you have only R500 model in the oldest zone which is 5.2.1.x.x. We would suggest you to upgrade that specific zone to any AP Firmware version highlighted above, which is available on your controller ( Depends on the Upgrade history --> Navigate to Administrator > Upgrade > This page shows the Upgrade history. If you have upgraded the controller from 5.2.1 to 5.2.2 and then to 6.1.0, you will have any of the above mentioned zone versions available to upgrade the old zone to 5.2.2 ) . In future upgrades to 6.1.1, This AP model may will still be supported under 5.2.2.0.x zone code. There would not be any potential issue but it's just a limitation to those AP models but can be managed in same the controller but with different zone version or code.
