Ruckus SZ100 controller not booting

abhijit_gurav

Hello Team,

We are currently experiencing an issue with our SmartZone 100 controller—it is not booting up, and we are unable to access the GUI. Upon checking through the console, we are receiving the error message below (please see below error).

As we have an existing backup configuration file, would it be advisable to perform a factory reset from the console and then upload the backup configuration?

Additionally, we would like to confirm—will performing a factory reset remove the license from the controller, or will the license remain intact?

Your guidance on the best approach would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @abhijit_gurav,

I hope you are doing well.

From the console output shared above, we have observed I/O and disk errors, indicating that the unit can be considered faulty.

Please proceed to open a case with us at:
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/contact-us
so that we can initiate the RMA process, provided the unit is covered under warranty.

As a preliminary step, you may attempt to perform a factory reset on the unit and restore the configuration backup. Please ensure that the configuration backup corresponds to the same firmware version currently running on the SmartZone (SZ).

Kindly note that licenses will remain intact even after a factory reset, as they are tied to the serial number of the unit.
