Equipment performance alarm

For consultation, we are using Proxmox virtual organization to build the Smartzone platform. Currently, we have 2 online APs and 5 online users. We have 30GB of memory, but we have already used about 90% of it. Why?
In the later stage, I will increase the number of APs on my end to 50, and the number of devices will reach 500 people. Will the above configuration have any impact? How do I need to adjust it?
Is it possible that a hard drive with an HDD is a mechanical hard drive that affects memory? Will this also affect future use of WIFI?

Hello Cangqingse,

Could you please confirm the firmware version of the vSZ?

Kindly note that Proxmox is not an officially supported hypervisor for version 6.1.2.x or lower. Official support for Proxmox begins with version 7.1.x and later.

7.1.x upgrade guide: https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.ruckuswireless.com%2Fdocum...(Page 20)

Thank you,

Debadrita Paul.

Hi @cangqingse,

May I know how the 90% memory utilization is being confirmed? Is this statistic being observed from Proxmox or directly from the SmartZone (SZ)?

Could you also please confirm the SmartZone firmware version?
The reason I ask is that Proxmox is officially supported starting from SZ firmware version 7.1.0.

Additionally, please specify the type of vSZ you are using — is it High Scale or Essentials?

Based on the number of APs in your deployment, the minimum resource allocation should be as follows:

Please note that HDD disk space should not impact memory utilization.

Should you have any further queries, feel free to write back to us.

Hello Cangqingse,

It is always recommended to deploy the vSZ by the upgrade guide provide by ruckus.

To provide you with the exact memory CPU and RAM required will depend on the version you are deploying the vSZ.

And if you want to deploy more APs in the future and if it crosses the threshold provided in the upgrade guide you can increase the memory on the VM.
